There was bizarre news out of the U.S. State Department on Wednesday as the Associated Press reported that U.S. diplomats had to return home from Cuba after experiencing “physical symptoms,” which included “potentially permanent hearing loss.” The mysterious incidents led to the United States expelling two Cuba officials from their Washington, D.C. embassy. Despite the stunning revelations, the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) gave the story zero time later that evening.

In a statement to the press on Tuesday, President Trump declared that the United states would fight and win the battle against opioid addiction. Despite the fact that opioid overdoses killed tens of thousands last year, with 2017 on track to set a grim record, ABC and CBS skipped over Trump’s latest statement and new recommendations from his opioid commission. NBC was the only network in the Big Three to even mention them.

During Tuesday’s Special Report, Fox News Channel confirmed that the Pentagon had suspended their program that allowed certain immigrants hastened U.S. citizenship, the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI). “Lawmakers tell us the program has been, quote, "compromised." With reports that some enrollees are unaccounted for tonight and fears of foreign infiltration spreading across Capitol Hill,” announced Anchor Bret Baier at the top of the show.

Late Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fl.) had fired shady I.T. staffer Imran Awan after being arrested trying to flee the country amid a criminal investigation. And yet the “big three” networks ignored this piece of breaking news.

In a Senate hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday, the United States Postal Service felt the heat of bipartisan scorn for decades of violations of federal election laws. “A new report tonight states that Postal Service employees were allowed to take leave from their jobs and still get paid as they campaigned for Hillary Clinton last year,” announced Fox News Channel Anchor Bret Baier during Special Report. Even in light of the report by the Postal Service’s oversight office, ABC, CBS, and NBC failed to inform their viewers.

The Trump administration took swift action against two high ranking officials at the Manchester VA Medical Center in New Hampshire on Sunday. The firings came one day after The Boston Globe published a scathing expose on the atrocious conditions present at the VA hospital. But despite the horrendous conditions and the Trump administration’s decisive action, the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) ignored everything.

The American political world was rocked Tuesday when Donald Trump Jr. released a series of e-mails that showed he was approached by and met with, someone who appeared to have ties to Russia and claimed to have damaging information about Hillary Clinton. The shocking revelation dominated the evening news coverage of the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC). Of the total time spent on news (minus commercials and teasers), the e-mails commanded 54 percent of the total coverage on the three networks.

On Thursday, all of Washington, D.C. and every liberal news outlet was obsessed with a pair of early morning tweets sent out by President Trump. But there was also some good being done in D.C. that day. In two bipartisan votes, the House passed both Kate’s Law and a measure to punish sanctuary cities. However, viewers of ABC and CBS would not have known about them since they omitted it from their coverage, while NBC gave it less than 30 seconds.

When the Supreme Court of the United States released its latest batch of rulings on Monday, most eyes were on the court allowing partial implementation of the President’s travel ban on six Middle Eastern countries. The Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) spent a lot of time hyper focusing on that ruling and the CBO report of the Senate health care bill. There was also a big win for religious liberty that got omitted from the reports of both ABC and CBS, while NBC simply tacked it onto the end of their travel ban report.

While the broadcast networks spent Wednesday focusing on a Senate hearing they were hoping would implicate President Trump in obstruction of justice, they ignored a House Oversight Committee report that showed President Obama’s administration did just that. “An absolutely blistering report tonight out saying the Obama administration in general and former Attorney General Eric Holder in particular repeatedly lied to the family of a slain Border Patrol officer about the weapons used in his death, and stonewalled efforts to get at the truth,” announced Fox News’ Bret Baier on Special Report.

All of the negative news about President Donald Trump provided a convenient smokescreen to obscure a story highly damaging to former President Barack Obama on Wednesday. As first reported by Circa News, “The National Security Agency under former President Barack Obama routinely violated American privacy protections while scouring through overseas intercepts and failed to disclose the extent of the problems until the final days before Donald Trump was elected president last fall.” As would be expected, the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) completely omitted from their evening broadcasts.

Thursday morning, Harvard Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy issued a report which confirmed what NewsBusters reported in April, namely that President Donald Trump "has received unsparing coverage for most weeks of his presidency, without a single major topic where Trump’s coverage, on balance, was more positive than negative, setting a new standard for unfavorable press coverage of a president." On Sunday, CNN's John Berman tried to cast Fox News as a conservatively biased outlier — as opposed to the relatively fair and balanced entity it has actually been during the Trump administration's early months — by selecting the results of one tiny element of the Shorenstein report and presenting it as if it was the study's comprehensive conclusion.
