Wow, 370 pages of closed-door testimony from an FBI lawyer who alleges the Obama Justice Department told the FBI not to charge Secretary Hillary Clinton for “gross negligence?” The Democrat-controlled House shutting down the committee charged with investigating possible bias at the DOJ and FBI? Those things sound irresistibly tantalizing for reporters but for the Big Three broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), it drew only yawns.
In 24 hours, NONE of the flagship morning and evening news programs for the Big Three broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) saw fit to inform viewers that liberal darling, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was facing serious accusations of campaign finance violations. If true, those allegations carried possible jail time.
With Empire actor and apparent hoaxer Jussie Smollett now formally charged with allegedly fabricating a hate crime, many are calling out the liberal media for falling for the accusations because they fit their anti-Trump narrative. During a Thursday appearance on Fox News Channel’s Special Report, Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Matthew Continetti called out the media for often holding water for liberals and against Republicans.
The rollout of Senator Amy Klobuchar’s (D-MN) presidential campaign was immediately mired by serious reports sourced from former staffers that claimed the Senator was an abusive boss. When ABC’s Good Morning America questioned her on Monday, they avoided all the terrible details choosing instead to lob softball questions about her being a “tough boss”. But during Tuesday’s Special Report, Fox News anchor Bret Baier pressed her on whether she had ever “throw[n] a binder at anybody”.
Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam disgusted many Wednesday when he came out in support of a failed state bill that would have allowed abortions to be carried out on a child that had been fully “delivered.” This came after New York State had signed into law another disgusting bill that allowed abortions up till the due date. These efforts by Democrats went completely unreported during the morning and evening news broadcasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC.
Between the Women’s March’s deep ties embracing those with anti-Semitic views and open anti-Semitismof Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar (MN) and Rashida Tlaib (MI), the Democratic Party had a lot to answer for on their side. So, doing what the liberal media seemed reluctant to do, Fox News anchor Bret Baier pressed Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on the “threads” of hate running through his party.
Over the weekend, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz sent the liberal media into a tailspin by announcing he was seriously exploring the idea of running as an independent candidate in 2020. Instead of treating him as just another candidate in what was turning out to be a very crowded field Monday evening, the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) treated him as a threat to the Democratic Party’s chances of beating President Trump.
In the latest example of the liberal broadcast networks burying the scandals Democratic politicians, ABC, CBS, and NBC ran away at full speed from Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who was forced to step down from key posts Wednesday following accusations she mishandled a rape allegation by a female staffer. This, after they pushed aside the breaking news last week.
After refusing to retract a story labeling innocent Catholic high school kids harassed at the Lincoln Memorial “racist”, NBC Nightly News doubled down on the incendiary charge on Monday. In a report by correspondent Ron Allen, the network sided with instigator Nathan Phillips despite more video vindicating the teenagers. Telemundo also decided to smear the teens with no mention of the death threats they were receiving.
On Tuesday night, the broadcast network evening newscasts on ABC, CBS, and NBC failed to cover two intriguing headlines that the public deserved to hear about. One pertained to the revelation that a former top FBI lawyer is under criminal investigation for leaking to the news media while the other story was the Democratic National Committee cutting ties with the anti-Semitic friendly Women’s March.
In a confirmation hearing late last year and a later questionnaire, District Court nominee Brian C. Buescher was assailed for his Catholic beliefs and membership in the Knights of Columbus by Democratic Senators Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and Kamala Harris of California. The incident, which went unreported by the broadcast network news programs, was back in the news Thursday following a rebuke from Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. Hint, the networks ignored that too.
In the aftermath of about 150 migrants attacking Border Patrol agents and trying to break across the border from Mexico late New Year's Eve night, the broadcast networks have barely given attention to the story as ABC ignored it entirely, CBS gave it 24 seconds Wednesday morning only, and NBC gave it a half minute at the beginning of the same day's Today with a brief followup later, while an additional 13 seconds made it onto NBC Nightly News.
