In a Thursday evening interview with the Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier for Special Report, Dr. Deborah Birx, of the coronavirus task force subtlety and adeptly placed the blame on China for trying to cover up the existence of the coronavirus. She also shot down the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda that claimed the virus had started in the United States; effectively doing what many liberal media outlets refused to do.
Last week, PBS correspondent Yamiche Alcindor argued with President Trump in a Rose Garden press conference that he disbanded a National Security Council office on pandemics, and that the government “lost valuable time” on the coronavirus battle because of it. On Monday, The Washington Post published an op-ed from former National Security Council official Tim Morrison titled “No, the White House didn’t ‘dissolve’ its pandemic response office. I was there.”
Despite pushback Wednesday night from at least two members of Zuckerville, FNC host Bret Baier and the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway torched the liberal media narrative during Special Report that Russian-backed Facebook ads threw the 2016 election to Donald Trump while, in reality, Michael Bloomberg’s hundreds of millions of dollars didn’t buy him the 2020 Democratic nomination.
When Republican-controlled statehouses were passing a wave pro-life laws around the country in 2019, the liberal broadcast networks looked on in horror and bashed the bills. On Monday, after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Trump administration’s Protect Life Rule, the networks were nowhere to be seen. Instead, CBS Evening News reported on a study about smart speakers, ABC’s World News Tonight covered the weather, and NBC Nightly News complained about an Amazon series.
One of the big announcements to come out of President Trump’s visit to India, so-far this week, was a $3 billion deal to supply the country with new military helicopters. But the viewers of ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News on Monday were misled to believe the visit as just the President was just on a sightseeing trip by ignoring the deal and other trade negotiations. Combined, the two networks didn’t even spend 30 seconds on Trump’s official trip abroad.
Through the Tuesday broadcast network morning and evening newscasts, not a single second has been spent on news first uncovered Monday by our friend Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist that Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) “and other Democratic senators had a secret meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during the Munich Security Conference last week.”
President Trump was correct in spirit when he predicted, at the Oval Office on Thursday, that “the USMCA will probably be second” as the liberal media would be hyper-focused on his Impeachment trial in the Senate. It was a prediction a little too favorable to the media seeing as ABC, CBS, and NBC completely ignored the Senate’s overwhelming and bipartisan approval of the United States –Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade during their evening newscasts.
Thursday was the U.S. stock market’s first day of trading for the 2020 election year and as Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier said on Special Report, “stock markets picked up the new year where they left off in 2019” by setting new record highs, yet again. It was a great way to kick off the new year but as they’ve done with much of the positive economic news since President Trump took office, the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) completely ignored it during their evening newscasts.
In the midst of chasing down impeachment Tuesday, House Democrats and Republicans agreed to a truly massive $1.4 trillion spending deal that would shove the country’s yearly deficit to over $1 trillion. With the new out of control spending expected to be signed by President Trump and the national debt already over $23 trillion, news of the deal went unreported during the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC.
A complete and total blackout. That was how ABC, CBS, and NBC reacted on their Tuesday evening newscasts when the top Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge, Rosemary M. Collyer blasted the FBI for misleading the court when seeking surveillance warrants for a former Trump campaign staffer. The order was damning, accusing an FBI lawyer of a criminal act in intentionally lying to the court. It added that the court’s confidence in the FBI’s evidence was so shaken they needed extra oversight for all cases.
Fired FBI Director James Comey had his feet held to the fire on Fox News Sunday by anchor Chris Wallace, who grilled him on the FBI’s misconduct during the Russia probe. Despite Comey’s admission that the FBI mislead the FISA court in their applications to spy on a Trump campaign staffer, the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) refused to cover Comey’s comments on their flagship morning and evening news programs between Sunday and Monday evenings.
Senate Republicans grilled Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, Wednesday, on how his probe could determine there was no political bias at the FBI against then-candidate Trump, when he couldn’t uncover a reasonable explanation for their “gross abuse” of the system, as Attorney General William Barr put it. Well, ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir continued to carry water for the FBI and claimed there was “no spying” despite the fact, the IG report exposed that there was.
