Here's one obvious way Chuck Todd isn't trying to be Tim Russert. Instead of asking Bernie Sanders a hardball about why he explicitly praised America's communist enemies during the Cold War, he framed the question as a Democrat primary voter would frame it. How are you going to get around the oafish conservatives and their nasty tweets?

During Sunday’s morning newscasts, NBC’s Sunday Today was talking about how Democrats had to define Republicans as extreme on abortion while ABC’s Good Morning America asserted that the GOP was extreme. Meanwhile, the broadcast networks have almost completely ignored the Democratic Party’s support for abortions up until the day of birth and a failed attempt to legalize infanticide in Virginia.

On Thursday night, Superstore aired another two episodes that focused on the ongoing conflict between Cloud 9 employees and corporate. The issue has festered through several seasons and unionization attempts, with employees upset about things like not getting maternity leave and lack of healthcare benefits. What ended up being the tipping point in the last two episodes, "Sandra's Fight" and "Employee Appreciation Day," was corporate cutting back on employee hours, making it harder for them to do their jobs well and to make ends meet, and the workers wanting to unionize.

UPDATE, 8:25 p.m. Eastern: In the hours since this article was first published, NBC Nightly News answered the call and stepped to the plate in covering the brutal violence against at least 12 people and the allegations of murder against illegal immigrant Bill Chemirmir. The one-minute-and-31-second story opened the newscast's B-block with correspondent Gabe Gutierrez mentioning the suspect's immigration status roughly 38 seconds into the story.

A NewsBusters study out Thursday afternoon showed that the broadcast networks loved slapping the “extreme” label on Alabama’s pro-life law, and the same for the heartbeat bills being enacted around the country, while completely ignoring New York’s extreme abortion protections. Well, NBC Nightly News broke the drought later that evening by completely embracing New York’s barbarism.

Network anchors and reporters are currently freaking out over Georgia, Alabama and Missouri passing laws designed to protect the rights of the unborn, having already devoted almost an hour (59 minutes, 38 seconds) of coverage (May 7-16) to the these new laws. But when New York passed a radical law legalizing late term abortions back in January the networks didn’t care at all - spending zero seconds on the bill signed into law by liberal New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The USS Abraham Lincoln was speeding to the Persian Gulf, U.S. military bases in the Middle East were on high alert, then on Wednesday nonemergency staff for the U.S. Embassy in Iraq were ordered to leave because the U.S. had intelligence of an “imminent” Iranian-backed attack. But the liberal media, which often carries water for the regime, was skeptical. ABC News suggested it was “faulty” intel akin to the Iraq War. NBC News claimed it’s a “real test” of President Trump’s credibility.

The state of Alabama enacted the most pro-life law in the country on Wednesday and the liberal media were outraged at the thought of protecting unborn life. Each of the three broadcast networks kicked off their evening news programs by fretting over it, with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt decrying how “46 years after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled abortion a constitutional right, the state of Alabama has just openly defied that landmark decision.”

It seems that in the eyes of NBC News, the evil Iranian regime can do no wrong even as all the evidence points to their involvement in the sabotage (via explosives) of four oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. Despite U.S. warnings over a week ago about such attacks from Iran or its proxies, Monday's NBC Nightly News projected skepticism with anchor Lester Holt calling the explosions “a mysterious so-called sabotage attack”.

On Sunday evening, the NBC Nightly News actually ran a balanced report on gun control which included the views of sheriffs who preside over Second Amendment "sanctuary counties" who refuse to enforce new gun control laws. Fill-in host Kate Snow set up the report: "An intense debate over gun laws in this counry reignited last week after a deadly shooting at a school in Colorado. Well, that same state is about to enact a controversial law meant to reduce gun violence, but the move is pitting sheriff against sheriff."

One of the two shooters at a high school in Colorado hated Christians, Republicans and praised Barack Obama. Yet none of the networks have, so far, covered his angry social media posts. This is in contrast to other occasions when they have tried to pin violence on conservative ideology.

NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is really stretching that “ripped from the headlines” mindset with its latest episode. Not only does SVU maintain the media lie about the Covington Catholic kids (this time with Jewish students), the show also manages to play defense for Rep. Ilhan Omar (with a Muslim councilwoman standing in for "Native American elder" Nathan Phillips). Who knew you could fit so much intersectional dishonesty into one hour?
