Taylor Swift may have stirred up some “Bad Blood” with social justice warriors for not being sufficiently woke in her new pro-LGBT song. On Friday the pop star released the lyric video to the single “You Need to Calm Down” and on Monday she released the official music video which appears to take place in a gay, rainbow-themed trailer park and features dozens of (mostly) LGBT celebrity cameos.
Pop star Kesha is out with a new song blasting the intersectional left’s number one, most-hated target – or, as Rolling Stone excitedly reported, “Kesha Rids the World of ‘Rich, White, Straight Men’ on New Track.” The artist formerly known as Ke$ha posted the song literally titled ‘Rich, White, Straight, Men’ on YouTube on Sunday, apparently without the approval of her record label. The video accompanying the song is just a repeated loop of Kesha giving the camera the middle finger, which makes it the most honest depiction of the entertainment industry’s attitude toward middle America I’ve ever seen.
Whenever Miley Cyrus pops back into the news, the rest of the country appears a lot more wholesome in comparison. Today at 11:14 AM, while normal Americans were working for a living, Miley Cyrus tweeted out a picture of herself licking a cake that says “Aborton Is Healthcare.” Here’s a good rule of thumb: if Miley Cyrus is your political ally, you’re probably on the wrong side.
Ever since her decision to go political back in October, Taylor Swift has chugged the entire pitcher of liberal Kool-aid. On Saturday, Swift posted a letter she wrote to Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander on her Instagram. The letter urged the Senator to support the Equality Act, an “anti-discrimination” bill that discriminates against religious views on traditional marriage and biological sex.
French rapper Nick Conrad’s new song is the textbook definition of hatred and discrimination against a country and its people. The most outrageous thing about it is not in the lyrics, which include disgusting lines about “burning” and “fucking” France, but the fact that such hateful and explicit trash has been deemed worthy of staying on Facebook and Instagram while internet personalities like Laura Loomer and Paul Joseph Watson have been removed for “far less violent content.”
It’s March again, so the tween channel Nickelodeon is gearing up for its annual Kids’ Choice Awards program and the content (ratings) of the show has gotten progressively worse over the years. And for 2019, the downward spiral will probably continue. According to Billboard, Nickelodeon has announced that the awards show’s host will be DJ Khaled, a notorious rapper who puts out garbage like 2015’s How Many Times, which also features the likes of Chris Brown, Big Sean, and Lil Wayne of all people.
It seems like abortion activists are getting more brazen in pushing their agenda to normalize and celebrate abortion every day. American singer Amanda Palmer released the single "Voicemail for Jill" on Tuesday, announcing matter-of-factly on Twitter, “this is my new song... it's about abortion.” along with a link to the audio.
Hollywood will jump at any opportunity to throw a middle finger at conservative policies, especially at immigration reform. Doubling down on it’s message of “Fuck The Wall,” the music industry threw three Grammy awards at a music album featuring the vocal stylings of 53 undocumented immigrants. Of course Billboard Music reported on it with pride.
The far left is having trouble fighting wars on two fronts. With President Trump in office, it’s fair to say that there hasn’t been much of a “War on Christmas” this year, since the War on Trump is never-ending. There were a few stories about cowardly school officials insisting no choir can sing “Jesus songs” at the annual “winter concert.” But this year we were introduced to a new wrinkle: Christmas vs. #MeToo. And #MeToo is upset at the 1940s Frank Loesser standard “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”
New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica pompously condemned an entire genre of music for not writing about what he cares about: Gun violence. It follows the paper’s recent expressed annoyance that country isn’t on the entertainment industry’s ineffectual gun-control bandwagon: "It should be neither remarkable nor courageous for a country singer to address the plague of gun violence in this country. That mass shootings tore apart a country music festival a year ago and a country-music bar just two days ago makes the genre’s silence on the matter irresponsible and infuriating."
Perhaps annoyed that “jingoistic” country music is not yet as infested with left-wing promotional politics as other musical and entertainment fields, a major newspaper again used the annual Country Music Association Awards to push gun-control politics onto the industry, Reporter Elizabeth Harris garnered the front page of the New York Times Arts section for her Saturday piece “Singing About Pain, But Not Its Source -- A country awards show may discuss its slain fans, but guns and politics are unlikely topics.”
If PC can make 100-year-old statues disappear, it certainly can erase rock n’ roll songs. This summer’s deluxe re-issue of rock band Guns N’ Roses’ 1987 album, Appetite for Destruction, was packaged without an original song due to homophobic and racist content.
