The Last Word
On Monday night’s episode of The Last Word, MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell and guest Tim O’Brien made over-the-top claims and speculations into the relationship between recently indicted Jeffery Epstein and President Donald Trump. The host began the discussion with a vaguely dramatic and ominous claim: “Now, sometimes the indictment of an old friend of Donald Trump's for sex trafficking has nothing to do with Donald Trump, but this is not one of the times.”
On Friday night’s The Last Word, host Lawrence O’Donnell was joined by MSNBC contributor and former Obama official, Wendy Sherman to, not surprisingly criticize the President. O’Donnell began, “There is a very smiling and happy Vladimir Putin joking about how much he hates the news media along with Donald Trump.” Of course, this was very triggering for the liberal media. Sherman commented: “…that Donald Trump aligns himself with these autocrats, with these dictators really is about his being a bully.”
In an almost five-minute rant Tuesday night, MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell tried to rationalize how Senator Lindsey Graham and Donald Trump Jr. could possibly support the President. O’Donnell’s conclusion was fear: “In the peculiar chemistry of Trump world, hate and fear sometimes combine to create public love and adoration. That seems to have happened to both Lindsey Graham and Donald Trump Jr.”
Friday night on MSNBC’s The Last Word, host Lawrence O’Donnell showed his support for Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll. Carroll accused President Trump of raping her in a department store in 1995, in an article that came out in New York Magazine Friday. O’Donnell and the liberal media quickly ate up the allegations without any skepticism, with O’Donnell spending over half of his hour-long program on the story.
Like other primetime hosts at MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell spends most of the time during his Last Word weeknight program slamming President Trump as guilty of committing treason and therefore deserving immediate impeachment. Of course, it came as no surprise that he used an interview with The Hollywood Reporter website and magazine to assail the GOP occupant of the White House as “illiterate” and having no ability to handle complexity.
MSNBC’s The Last Word, was back on Wednesday night to their usual anti-Trump rhetoric, amidst Trump’s recent ABC interview which had sent the entire liberal media in a frenzy. To begin, O’Donnell showed a clip from the interview in which President Trump stated: “I’ve seen a lot of things over my life. I don’t think in my whole life I’ve ever called the FBI, in my whole life. You don’t call the FBI.”
President Trump made more headlines Wednesday night after he told ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos that he would be fine with taking “oppo research” on his 2020 opponent from foreign countries. This comment drew criticism. But during their almost two hours and 30 minutes of prime time coverage, or hair-on-fire panic, neither CNN nor MSNBC cared to mention that that’s exactly what the Clinton campaign did in 2016 with the now-infamous dossier.
Tuesday night on MSNBC’s The Last Word, host, Lawrence O’Donnell made absurd claims about President Trump, going as far as to accuse him of treason. To begin, O’Donnell quoted the President’s comments earlier that day about the death of Kim Jong-un’s brother: “I saw the information about the CIA with respect to his brother or half-brother and I would tell him that would not happen under my auspices. That’s for sure.”
Ever fervent in their Trump impeachment agenda, the liberal media decided to attack Fox News on MSNBC’s The Last Word, Monday night. Host, Lawrence O’Donnell, set the stage for Jill Wine-banks, a former Watergate prosecutor, asking: “Jill Wine-Banks, this must have been odd for you to watch having worked on the Watergate case where in fact, Republicans did cooperate in the House Judiciary Committee a total of seven Republicans ultimately voted for at least one article of impeachment against President Nixon.”
Thursday night’s episode of The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell did little to venerate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, instead focusing on the liberal media’s Public enemy number one Donald Trump. O’Donnell began his almost six-minute rant by stating: “Donald Trump’s vocabulary is and always has been the size of his mind. Which is to say very, very small.” Good one O’Donnell, no one saw that coming.
Wednesday night on MSNBC’s The Last Word, host Lawrence O’Donnell was joined by former GOP Rep. Tom Coleman (MO) to discuss the media’s favorite pet project: impeachment. O’Donnell eagerly introduced Coleman’s unique approach to impeachment: “You believe that the Mueller Report shows that the Trump presidency is an illegitimate presidency, which also means that the vice presidency of Mike Pence is illegitimate in your reading of it…”
MSNBC’s The Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell ganged up with Vox editor Ezra Klein Thursday night to discuss recent developments in the on-going showdown between President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. O’Donnell opened the topic by sardonically stating; “One of the developments today was the President taking time to publicly proclaim he’s not the crazy one.” Taking the ever favored side of Crazy Nancy, O’Donnell and Klein laughed over Trump’s defending himself with Klein quipping, “so things are going great in American democracy I guess.”
