Last Week Tonight
Far-left HBO host John Oliver on Sunday used his show to go on a profanity-laced rant about the coronavirus, the President and the “market worship” that risks becoming a “fucking death cult.” What was most galling, however, was his efforts to pretend that there is nothing political going on in how some on the left are covering the virus crisis.
Hard-left comedian John Oliver on Sunday devoted almost his entire 30 minute Last Week Tonight show to propagandizing for socialist Bernie Sanders’s Medicare for All plan, downplaying problems such as long wait time as “complicated.” The complete ending of private health insurance would be done “carefully.” The high costs must be considered with “a lot of context around it.” The 20 minute screed was heavy on the lecture, light on problematic facts and also actual comedy.
Last Week Tonight host John Oliver devoted much of his show Sunday night to advocating for an end to the filibuster; echoing an argument made by several Democratic presidential candidates. In addition to delivering a plea to abolish the filibuster, Oliver spent part of his monologue trashing Republicans in the most vulgar way possible.
The 2019 Emmy nominations have been unveiled and (not so) surprisingly there are lots of lefty Hollywood specimens up for the illustrious TV awards. While many of you might be actually excited to see these people awarded for talent, we’re here to focus on which liberal heartthrobs get their rear-ends kissed by the industry the most.
During Last Week Tonight Sunday, host John Oliver devoted nearly his entire show to advocating for the impeachment of President Trump while attempting to portray himself as neutral on the matter. Oliver appeared to have a newfound sense of motivation to push for impeachment following President Trump’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
On the June 9 Last Week Tonight on HBO, host John Oliver uncorked one of his long faux-comedic crusades for a left-wing cause, in this case the utopian dream of an "Equal Rights Amendment." He mocked its biggest opponent, the late Phyllis Schlafly, as an undesirable wife. I'm not sure how big a sacrifice it was for [her husband] Fred to spend a few hours not hanging out with Phyllis Schlafly. If I had to guess, Fred was absolutely okay with Phyllis getting out of the house for the day. The night, even."
On his weekly HBO show Last Week Tonight, John Oliver took a shot at Meghan McCain, now the outspoken conservative on ABC's The View. It came as Oliver discussed the Eurovision song contest, which included a kooky anti-capitalist sado-masochist rock band from Iceland called Hatari, and one member (shown in bondage gear) was the son of Iceland's ambassador to England. Oliver joked: "You may be thinking that’s the most embarrassing child of a prominent political figure you’ve ever seen, but let me remind you of the continued existence of Meghan McCain!"
The Sunday edition of HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver focused heavily on climate change, so it featured an appearance from Bill Nye the Science Guy, who had some harsh words for conservatives skeptical of the Green New Deal throughout the episode, concluding with a profanity-laced rant aimed at critics of the Green New Deal.
April has come and gone with no shortage of absolute hatred and contempt from media progressives. Entertainment programming from major networks, cable TV and popular streaming services have delivered another 40 deranged anti-Trump/conservative scenes for impressionable viewers, providing God-fearing viewers another valid reason to grab those torches and pitchforks. Much of this month’s material is simply monstrous.
The liberal media launched an offensive against both of President Donald Trump’s selections for the Federal Reserve board of governors.
The media have outdone themselves slinging mud at the “controversial” and “unqualified” picks of economics writer and Club for Growth founder Stephen Moore and millionaire businessman, former CEO and former presidential candidate Herman Cain. Cain also served as a director for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Directors provide “insight on current and emerging issues” in the business community.
Lefty HBO host John Oliver lashed out at Jay Leno on Sunday, trashing the former Tonight Show star after he called for more balance in political comedy. Instead of focusing on Leno’s call for more fairness, Oliver attacked the comedian as a hypocrite. In a segment on public shaming and Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, the Last Week Tonight host noted that some comics regret their ‘90s jokes about the White House intern: “Many comedians have since publicly expressed regret about things they've said, although one who hasn't, and who was among the most relentless, was Jay Leno.”
HBO anchor John Oliver may be your standard entertainment liberal, but even he can see the awfulness in the way ex-Today host Matt Lauer treated women. In a segment deriding psychics as the low rent scam artists, the Last Week Tonight host mocked Lauer as “sophisticated Manhattan sex monster.”
