Deadline: White House
MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch sure managed to pack an awful lot of anti-Trump venom into a thirty-second soliloquy. Appearing on Deadline: White House Wednesday, Deutsch asserted that “history will really frown on the Republicans” before describing President Trump as a “slimeball.” Deutsch’s rant came as part of a larger conversation about the House Democrats’ new obsession with money laundering when it comes to the Russia probe.
On Monday, the White House held its first press briefing in 41 days, a stat passed around the press about how it was the longest span between briefings since cameras were brought in during the Clinton administration. Despite this kvetching, CNN and MSNBC chose not to air a single second of the briefing live, which included an announcement of new Venezuela sanctions plus questions for White House Press Briefing Sarah Huckabee Sanders and three other administration officials.
On Tuesday's Deadline: White House, MSNBC host and former Republican Nicolle Wallace was in denial about the existence of racism within her new home on the left as she ridiculously claimed that "there isn't a strain of racism on the left." Her comments came during a discussion of Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King's flirtations with white nationalists that have drawn condemnation from fellow Republicans.
For a year that featured Joy Behar’s anti-Christian tirade on The View, faux conservatives making fools of themselves on cable news, Jim Acosta’s nuttiness, and Samantha Bee’s ugly use of the c-word against First Daughter Ivanka Trump, 2018 provided an inordinate amount of content for the NewsBusters staff. Following the precedent set in 2016 and 2017, the following post gives you, the readers, a look at the top ten posts of 2018 based on traffic.
On MSNBC, ripping President Trump over the shutdown, an overwrought Elise Jordan declared that Trump "won't skip paychecks" as a result of the shutdown. Technically that's true, since by law the President is deemed an essential employee. But Jordan is apparently unaware that Trump has never cashed a presidential paycheck, donating each one instead to different government departments to fund good works.
This week, NewsBusters is recounting the most obnoxious liberal bias of 2018. Today, it’s a look at the media’s Trump Derangement Syndrome as we present the most over-the-top attacks on President Donald Trump. When he wasn’t being compared to tyrants like Benito Mussolini, he was being branded a traitor who sold out America to Vladimir Putin. And of course he was repeatedly tarred as a hateful racist.
It was a funeral for former President George H.W. Bush but all the MSNBC Deadline White House panel could focus on was Trump, Trump, Trump. Any mention of the recently deceased was only in relation to President Donald Trump. So what did Trump do at the funeral that caused such obsession over him? Actually, as they admit, nothing. He just quietly sat there but that was enough for host Nicole Wallace and her panelists Peter Baker, Michael Beschloss, and Eugene Robinson to analyze what they supposed was going on in Trump's mind.
During Tuesday’s Deadline: White House, host Nicolle Wallace used reports of Ivanka Trump using a personal e-mail account to promote a story by The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake highlighting a long list of scandals and conflicts of interest involving one or more members of the Trump family. Wallace and her panel discussed some of these scandals, including Kellyanne Conway selling Ivanka Trump’s dresses on TV and Donald Trump Jr. allegedly lying to the FBI.
On Monday afternoon, MSNBC host Katy Tur gave a commentary in which she fretted that her life may be "pointless" because news anchors like her do not cover "climate change" every day as she also predicted wildfires and storms will keep getting worse because of human activity. She then brought aboard global warming alarmist Michael Mann and gave him an unchallenged forum to complain about inaction as the two alleged that there is no longer any scientific debate over the matter.
On Wednesday's Deadline: White House, liberal MSNBC contributor Eddie Glaude managed to include two myths in his commentary as he repeated a discredited claim that President Barack Obama received "exponentially" more death threats than any other President, and also suggested President Ronald Reagan was "hypocritical" on race as he wrongly claimed Reagan "declared his candidacy" in Neshoba County, Mississippi.
During MSNBC’s hysteria-heavy afternoon show Deadline: White House on Wednesday, two guests of host and failed former Republican Nicolle Wallace diagnosed America as now in the midst of a “national emergency” and on the verge of a “constitutional crisis” that translates into people needing to “take to the streets” to protest the Trump administration’s firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
During Thursday’s edition of Deadline: White House, host Nicolle Wallace and her panel devoted almost an entire segment to praising the “powerful” and “persuasive” Oprah Winfrey. Wallace went on to talk about “the Oprah effect happening right in front of us as the TV superstar knocked on doors stumping for Stacey Abrams, the Democrat running for Governor there.” Wallace urged her audience to “listen to what Oprah told the crowd at a campaign event this afternoon and judge for yourself the potential impact this rare, coveted endorsement will have.”
