It’s been awhile since our last slideshow, NewsBusters readers. Thankfully, Tuesday’s Hardball on MSNBC came up clutch with reams of liberal nonsense from not just host Chris Matthews, but a cast of characters serving as yes men and women for this pro-impeachment pep rally. From leveling conspiracy theories to engaging in conspiracy theories, it was another case study in Trump Derangement Syndrome.
As Hurricane Dorian continues to wreak havoc across the eastern seaboard, liberal cable anchors are fixated on perhaps the most frivolous piece of the news cycle: President Trump’s poorly-doctored hurricane map. Between 5:00 am and 5:00 pm Eastern time on Wednesday, CNN and MSNBC gave this non-news item a whopping 145 minutes (just under two and a half hours).
Over at The Federalist, former Bush White House press secretary Ari Fleischer singled out PBS NewsHour reporter Yamiche Alcindor as a vivid example of liberal media bias during a press conference at the G-7 meetings in France. Alcindor grew emotional when Trump dared to say Obama was "outsmarted" by Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Reporters believe Obama is far too smart to ever be outsmarted.
There was plenty to pick through on Wednesday’s Hardball, such as topics covered here about how PBS NewsHour’s Yamiche Alcindor implied she was upset with God Bless the USA airing at Trump rallies and the President for not pushing gun control. But there were also meltdowns from Alcindor and her fellow panelists about Trump’s feud with Denmark that included the words “disloyal,” “grenades,” and more accusations of racism and sexism.
Things took a bizarre turn roughly ten minutes into Wednesday’s Hardball and, surprisingly, it wasn’t MSNBC host Chris Matthews. After discussing President Donald Trump’s feud with Denmark, the topic turned to Trump’s proposal to invite Russia back into the G-7 (making it the G-8) again when far-left PBS NewsHour correspondent Yamiche Alcindor appeared to take issue with Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA being played at Trump rallies.
On her MSNBC show on Wednesday, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell adopted the unhinged talking points of 2020 Democratic candidates as she claimed that comments from Citizenship and Immigration Services Acting Director Ken Cuccinelli proved that Trump administration policies were “anti-Hispanic.”
It was another par for the course night of nonsense on Hardball Tuesday, featuring MSNBC host Chris Matthews waxing-poetic about past presidents providing leadership in challenging times compared to Donald Trump. His panelists then suggested his rhetoric led to the death of Latinos in El Paso that he truly doesn’t care about.
Continuing on MSNBC’s theme on Wednesday of panic regarding the Robert Mueller hearings, Hardball featured a number of panelists melting down at the possibility that President Trump won’t be impeached, removed from office, and/or be criminally charged, but it was host Chris Matthews who tried to keep up the fight with this opening tag of “second term or prison term.”
After Special Counsel Robert Mueller's underwhelming testimony to the House Judiciary Committee, PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor declared that Mueller had raised the stakes in 2020. No longer is 2020 a contrast of visions between President Trump and whoever the Democratic nominee is, but, "it may also come down to [Trump] being a free man." Host Judy Woodruff agreed, "That's a good point Yamiche."
On Wednesday, MSNBC's Jacob Soboroff was again adding to confusion over illegal immigration as he heavily gave the impression that the U.S. Supreme Court had blocked an effort by the Trump administration to keep asylum seekers jailed until their asylum cases are finalized. In fact, as clarified by PBS Newshour's Yamiche Alcindor, the administration was aiming on indefinite detention for asylum seekers who crossed the border illegally since legal asylum seekers are typically not incarcerated.
Wish that President Trump would not have inserted himself into Washington, D.C.’s Fourth of July celebrations, allowing A Capitol Fourth to remain on its own? Fine. But to declare the President’s plans “un-American” and a sign he wants to make America like North Korea or the former Soviet Union? That’s nonsense, folks. And as evidenced by those hot takes on Tuesday’s Hardball with MSNBC host Chris Matthews and his three panelists, we have yet another example of what Trump Derangement Syndrome can do to your well-being.
It is officially election season and the time for cordiality in the Democratic Primary will soon come to an end. With the first debate set to go down Wednesday night, the candidates will quickly be chasing the Democratic nomination like a pack of hungry wolverines in pursuit of the opportunity to run against President Trump.
