Reacting to night one of CNN’s Democratic debate, on Wednesday’s Today show, NBC News political analysts and former Senator Claire McCaskill was relieved that the radical health care plans advocated by Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders were hammered by their fellow 2020 candidates. McCaskill also completely rejected any possibility of such extreme proposals ever becoming law.

Over the weekend, President Trump blasted Congressman Elijah Cummings (D) for having done “nothing” for his congressional district, which included a large portion of Baltimore, Maryland. Trump described it as “a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess” that was “dangerous” and “filthy”. Of course, the liberal media led the Democratic Party choir in calling Trump’s attack “racist” while completely ignoring what the facts were on the ground.

There is perhaps no moment in Donald Trump’s presidency in which the media unnecessarily melted down more than in their coverage of President Trump’s Fourth of July “Salute to America” celebration. The event itself was a tribute to America’s military and the country’s history. It featured  flyovers from all five branches of the military.

Over the weekend, President Trump attended the G-20 summit in Japan. “Controversy” broke out when a video went viral of the President’s daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump having an awkward-appearing conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Theresa May, and International Monetary Fund Chairwoman Christine Lagarde.

Despite the fact that there were four North Korean nuclear tests under President Obama and only one under President Trump (none in almost 2 years) and gave everything away to Cuba for nothing, Sunday’s editions of ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Sunday Today rushed to declare Trump’s historic meeting with Kim Jong-un at the DMZ to be nothing more than just a photo op.

On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough, speaking as someone who unequivocally proclaimed "I want Donald Trump to lose," said that last night's debate was a "disaster" for Democrats. Scarborough made a four-pronged argument: first, Dems went after each other rather than attacking President Trump. Second and third: the unanimous Dem support for health-care-for-life for illegal immigrants, and for making illegal entry into the US no longer illegal, will lose the Dem candidate several states. Scarborough also said Biden's performance might have been the "most disturbing" he's seen since Reagan's first 1984 debate.

Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist offer surprising praise of President Trump's speech on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, calling it "really good, terrific," and the "most powerful speech" he's given as POTUS.

Guest hosting Morning Joe, Willie Geist suggests that the Democrats' decision to call John Dean—former star Watergate witness against Richard Nixon—to testify at next week's House Judiciary Committee hearing "add[s] to President Trump’s argument that it's just a big a clown show."

On Friday's Morning Joe, director and actor Rob Reiner claimed that there were "piles of evidence of collusion" in the Mueller Report.  Yet in the video for Now This that Reiner directed there is not a word about collusion in the Mueller Report. In fact, it focuses solely on obstruction of justice for a crime that neither Reiner nor the Mueller Report provided any evidence even happened.

An entertaining catfight among Trump antagonists broke out on today's Morning Joe over the best way to go after the President. Branding maven Donny Deutsch said Dems should drop talk of impeachment, calling it a losing term. Instead, he recommended that they rebrand the matter as "criminal activity," and constantly talk about "Trump criminal." In the other corner, championing impeachment, was Susan Del Percio.

Reacting to yesterday's short-lived meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, the Morning Joe panel hurls a string of insults at President Trump: "stinks, complete idiot, pathetic."

Willie Geist asked Susan Del Percio what she would do about impeachment "if you were a Democrat?" MSNBC still passes Del Percio off as a "Republican" strategist. But it appears that the most recent person she strategized for was Andrew Cuomo, the liberal Democrat governor of New York.
