If the left-wing media were hoping for a slam dunk during Special Counsel Mueller’s testimony on Capitol Hill Wednesday, it’s clear from their reactions that they don’t think they saw one. The responses from TV journalists ranged from nonplussed to outright upset (aside from weirdly giddy CNN panels), with some analysts and reporters going so far as to declare the hearings “a disaster,” and the cause of impeachment “over.”
ABC’s live coverage team was quick to come to Robert Mueller’s defense after his first fumbling testimony before the House Judiciary Committee this morning was roundly criticized by media on both sides of the aisle. ABC characterized Mueller’s confused and evasive performance as simply the former Special Counsel being apolitical and “sticking to the facts.”
Thursday morning all three networks began their shows expressing disgust at what happened at President Trump’s rally in Greenville, North Carolina last night. At one point, the crowd began to chant “Send her back,” referring to Rep. Ilhan Omar. On ABC’s Good Morning America, anchor George Stephanopoulos dragged out the Richard Nixon comparisons, while correspondent Terry Moran fretted that Trump supporters wanted to control who “gets to be an American.”
House Democrats held a raucous hearing on Wednesday, where they hosted a radical leftist writer and other supposed luminaries to make the case for the federal government to pay African-Americans reparations as an apology for slavery. Despite the ridiculousness of having the people of today pay the price of something they had no hand in some 150 years ago, the liberal broadcast networks seemed all for it during their evening newscasts.
As President Trump began his state visit to the United Kingdom on Monday, all three network morning shows made sure to emphasize protests against his visit and were particularly excited by the return of a giant balloon depicting the President as a baby. The coverage echoed media reporting from Trump’s last visit to London in 2018, when the networks hyped how he was given a “not-so-royal welcome” by left-wing demonstrators.
After Special Counsel Robert Mueller gave his final word on the completed Mueller report Wednesday morning, all three networks broke in with live coverage demanding that it was now Democrats' chance to impeach Trump. ABC was the most heavy-handed in their coverage, with anchor George Stephanopoulos bringing up the impeachment topic at least eight times in a thirteen minute segment.
John Walker Lindh, “The American Taliban” was released from prison three years early for “good behavior” Thursday, despite evidence that he still clung to his jihadist ways. When news of his imminent release broke earlier in the week, the liberal media rightly condemned it. But a peek into the Media Research Center’s vast archives showed that the media was overly concerned for his well-being at the hands of the George W. Bush administration.
ABC senior national correspondent Terry Moran was feeling sassy about the pro-lifers on Twitter on Saturday. Inspired by political analysis from the men's fashion magazine GQ, which argued "The 'pro-life' states are not pro-life states," Moran slammed Alabama, Georgia, and Missouri.
With a video trying to tie President Trump to white supremacists, former Vice President Joe Biden threw his hat into the 2020 ring Thursday. That video won him the praise of the liberal media as both CBS and NBC kicked off their evening news broadcasts with his announcement. Each of the Big Three networks boasted about the video while downplaying his inappropriate touching scandals.
As far as the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks are concerned, Joe Biden’s troubles with touching women are essentially over. At least that’s the impression left when you look at the tiny (1 minutes, 52 seconds) amount of time devoted to the former Vice President’s grabbiness in their coverage of his campaign’s official launch.
All three networks led Thursday morning with former Vice President Joe Biden’s long-awaited announcement that he would run for president in 2020. ABC’s Good Morning America focused heavily on Biden’s appeal to Democrats’ “patriotism” and “American values,” with correspondent Terry Moran gushing about Biden taking back this “nationalism” message for “progressives.”
Thursday is reportedly when we should expect former Vice President Joe Biden to formally announce his 2020 campaign for president. After fawning for Biden’s many hints for over a month, ABC and CBS were excited during their Tuesday evening broadcasts. Not so much for NBC, who brought up some of Biden’s lowest moments for liberals.
