"In the year after the devastation, what we've seen is that every single time in the stories when they're talking about Sandy and either global warming or climate change, they're linking the two," Dan Gainor, MRC VP for Business and Culture, said on Fox Business' "Varney & Co." on Oct. 28.

Gainor was on "Varney & Co." to discuss how many times the media linked hurricane Sandy to climate change during the past year, based on a recent study by the Media Research Center's Business and Media Institute.

Fox News host Stuart Varney embarrassed Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday’s Your World with Neil Cavuto, using archived video to expose the congressman’s hypocrisy on the debt limit. Rangel supported raising the debt limit before today’s deadline, of course, but back in 2004, with Republican George W. Bush in the White House, he sang a different tune.

Varney, filling in for Cavuto, set Rangel up by asking him why he wanted to borrow so much money now. Rangel ignored the question, instead expressing his glee at the deal the Senate had reached. He exclaimed, “[W]e have kicked the can down the road and I'm happy.”  Varney then made his play: [Watch the video below the break.]

An incredulous Stuart Varney brought NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell on his Varney & Co. program this morning to discuss how  "[t]he mainstream media [have been] completely ignoring one the the biggest news stories of the year," by devoting zero news stories to the IRS scandal since July.

"Is that accurate, they haven't even mentioned it since those dates we put up on the screen?!" Varney asked Bozell at the segment. "It's fascinating and so troubling" because we have "one of the greatest abuses in my lifetime, the greatest abuse of federal power ever, where you're using the most-feared arm of government  against the people and you're seeing one revelation after another" which the networks simply refuse to cover. The Media Research Center founder and president rattled off just a few [LISTEN to mp3 audio here; WATCH the video below the page break]:

With more than $9.7 million in funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, and a full-time faculty 68 percent comprised of the staff of liberal groups, Columbia University is training the next generation of liberal journalists.

To mark the release of a new Special Report by the Media Research Center’s Business and Media Institute, MRC VP for Business and Culture Dan Gainor appeared on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business Network on Aug. 28. The topic of the report was the liberal slant of Columbia University School of Journalism – and the nearly $10 million it received from liberal billionaire George Soros.

When the president's hometown paper the Chicago Tribune turns on ObamaCare, you know it's getting real. "This is a paper that endorsed him twice [for president]" and for which former Obama campaign manager David Axelrod used to work, NewsBusters senior editor and Rich Noyes told Fox Business Network's Stuart Varney on his August 20 FBN program Varney & Co.

On top of that, Noyes reminded Varney's audience, the Tribune "was very instrumental in clearing the path for Barack Obama to win his Senate seat in 2004 [by] taking out [Republican challenger] Jack Ryan with an expose of his divorce records." As such, the paper souring on ObamaCare is newsworthy, and the liberal media's lack of interest is also accordingly also notable, Noyes argued. [watch the full segment below the page break]

"They leave out the context of what's really going on, and the context here is 'Obamacare, Obamacare and Obamacare.'"

Dan Gainor appeared on Fox Business's Varney & Co. on August 6 to address the latest dismal jobs report numbers.

"We've got major employers -- Subway and Hardees and Regal Entertainment -- that have announced that Obamacare is impacting how they hire," Gainor said. "We've got these huge, part-time statistics, two thirds of the jobs were just added Friday, to this 162,000 jobs number that was already disappointing, are part time. So you'd think the networks would make the connection, but we've looked at six months of network coverage, and they don't make the connection at all. You can find it in the Wall Street Journal, you can find it in the New York Times, you can find it in the Washington Post -- just not on ABC, CBS or NBC."

Although "we now know" that a Barack Obama political appointee "asked for reports to be delivered to him personally" regarding IRS approvals of 501(c)(3) applications, the liberal media continue to censor the IRS scandal story from their airwaves, NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center president Brent Bozell told Fox Business Network's Stuart Varney on the Varney & Co. program on Friday. "How can this not be covered?!" Bozell pleaded.

"You are demanding that it be covered," Varney noted, referring to a July 25 statement by Bozell, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, and three other prominent conservatives. "They've got to cover it! If this were Richard Nixon, they'd be having impeachment hearings by now," Bozell replied. What's more, Bozell noted, the media were uncritically accepting of President Obama's cavalier dismissal of "phony scandals" that have cropped up on his watch (watch the full segment below the page break):

ObamaCare is coming apart at the seams, and everyone knows it, but the media are deliberately censoring coverage of developments that expose the health care overhauls fatal flaws, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell noted on the Thursday morning edition of Fox Business Network's Varney & Co. [watch the full appearance in the video embedded below the page break]

For example, Bozell informed Varney that there was a grand total of just 61 seconds of time in network evening news coverage in all of 2012 in which businessmen were allowed to air their concerns about how ObamaCare will hurt their businesses. "That's unofficial, back-door censorship," FBN host Varney agreed with Bozell. That statistic is just one damning revelation from a new book out by Bozell and NewsBusters senior editor Tim Graham, "Collusion: How the Media Stole the 2012 Election and How to Stop Them from Doing It in 2016," which Varney plugged for viewers on the way out of the brief segment.

"The national news media are aiding and abetting a censorship campaign," regarding the "cascading" IRS scandal, Media Research Center founder and president Brent Bozell argued on the June 21 edition of Fox Business Network's Varney & Co.

Bozell noted, for example, that only CBS's This Morning covered the fact that IRS officials received $70 million in employee bonuses this year, despite a White House order freezing such bonuses during the sequester cutbacks. [MP3 audio here; Watch the video of the segment following the page break]

MRC director of media analysis Tim Graham appeared Thursday on the Fox Business program "Varney & Co." to discuss whether the Obama scandals were going to turn the media elites around on Barack Obama. Graham said this is a temporary rough patch. But he said his cynical side was surprised that other reporters embraced Fox News reporter James Rosen after the Obama administration conducted surveillance of his phone calls.

Graham said, "The Obama administration did something backwards here, because what that [Rosen surveillance] story does is cause the rest of the entire media, the liberal media, to rally around Fox News. So that’s not the kind of day they want to have."

"I've just been chuckling at" the media's response to Associated Press phone records probe by the Obama/Holder Justice Department, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell confessed to Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney this morning on the May 14 Varney & Co.

"There have been four years of overreach by this administration, four years of people not involved in journalism saying this was an administration that was drunk on power and evasive and dishonest, and the media would have nothing of it," noted the Media Research Center founder. It took the administration "turning on the press as well, and suddenly they're apoplectic," Bozell noted with a laugh. [For the full segment, watch the video below the page break]

The liberal media "are deliberately censoring news and information from the American people" on ObamaCare that would cast the Obama administration in a negative light, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell charged on the April 11 edition of Varney & Co.

The Media Research Center president rattled off a few such developments that the liberal media completely ignored (watch the full segment below):
