Things are not at all well on CBS Evening News, the flagship evening program for the third-place broadcast network. After making the major transition from CBS This Morning anchor Norah O’Donnell has been floundering in the rating fight with ABC and NBC by hemorrhaging viewers for the first six weeks, according to the Nielsen ratings.

In a memo released Tuesday, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon announced that the story chain would be taking up the liberal banner to crackdown on gun rights via restricting ammunition and gun sales along with demanding customers not open carry in stores. The move was celebrated by the liberal media as a win for their anti-gun agenda.

On Wednesday's CBS Evening News, in a report informing viewers of efforts by the Donald Trump administration to detain illegal immigrant families for longer than 20 days to avoid having to release them into the country, both anchor Norah O'Donnell and correspondent Chip Reid failed to inform viewers that those immigrants affected would be those who had broken the law in crossing the border. Choices of words like "crackdown on immigration," "migrant families," and "families with children" were used without giving any indication that those families had broken the law by crossing the border without permission instead of traveling to legal ports of entry.

The liberal media were disheartened Monday after Planned Parenthood announced it would take a roughly $60 million hit to its funds just so they could carry out more abortions. The new Title X rule put out by the Trump administration bars clinics from referring patients for abortions. CBS Evening News was so distraught that they kicked off their evening programming with the story.

President Trump flew to Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas on Wednesday to visit with wounded and pay his respects to the people who were killed in a pair of mass shootings over the weekend. Instead of that kicking off their political overage for the night, CBS Evening News chose to champion former Vice President and Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden for tearing into the President while campaigning in Iowa.

As NewsBusters research analyst Bill D’Agostino exposed Tuesday afternoon, the liberal broadcast networks were doing their best to avoid telling their viewers that the gunman behind the Dayton mass shooting was an admitted ‘leftist’. But ABC’s World News Tonight was the first flagship network news program to break that trend Tuesday evening when they footnoted that fact.

CBS on Monday connected Donald Trump to the mass slaughter in Texas, insisting that the President has used “almost identical” rhetoric to that of the apparent shooter. Then, when Trump called out “racism, bigotry and white supremacy” in his speech, the journalists speculated that it wasn’t enough.

The day after the disasters that were the Democratic-led hearings with former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) seemed crestfallen that their high hopes for President Trump’s impeachment were puttering out. Their Thursday flagship evening newscasts reflected that mood as they talked about the hearings not having the “punch” needed to push certain Democrats to back impeachment, leaving a “divide” in the party.

In the wake of the “disaster” that was the Democratic-led House hearings with Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Wednesday, some in the liberal media were honest about how it blew up in their faces. Yet, during the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC, the liberal media were desperately holding onto the dream that Mueller would help Democrats impeach President Trump. But there were a couple of correspondents who weren’t convinced.

Almost two weeks after they showed their viewers how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on their evening newscasts, ABC, CBS, and NBC marveled at their work Tuesday night as they celebrated the activists who obstructed ICE raids last week.

With the first week of the CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell in the books, it has showcased a CNN-like penchant for liberal bias and punditry masquerading as reporting. On Friday, the Trump coverage offered an embrace of anti-Semitic, corrupt, and far-left Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) by attacking the President for “demonizing” her to please his “anti-immigrant base.” To make matters worse, an additional segment skewed the President’s “go back” tweet with the help of at least two covert liberal activists.

Brand new CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell on Thursday continued to announce just how pleased she is with herself and fellow journalists. Days after ending her inaugural broadcast vowing to fight “ignorance,” O’Donnell appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and hailed how people in her profession “make democracy work.” Talking to Colbert, she gushed over Walter Cronkite: “I have been reading Walter Cronkite's biography. He held the post for more than 20 years, was known as the most trusted man in America, the most trusted voice.” O’Donnell quoted approvingly, “One of the things he said is, ‘Journalism is what we need to make democracy work.’"
