July 31st, 2021 9:24 AM

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to let Republicans pick their own members for her Select Committee on the January 6 riot, making the panel look obviously stacked. But on the Week in Review segment of Friday's PBS NewsHour, this was an unfortunate kerfuffle that should be overlooked. David Brooks called any complaints about the stacking "90 percent BS."

WaPo's Dionne: MSM Too Fair to Trump, Must Reject Air for Trump's Side

October 6th, 2019 1:31 PM
This might sound like a sick joke—if not a Kafkaesque nightmare—but E.J. Dionne is actually complaining the MSM's impeachment coverage has been . . . too fair to President Trump. Appearing on Joy Reid's MSNBC show today [guest-hosted by Jonathan Capehart], Dionne began by approvingly citing WashPost media critic Margaret Sullivan's column, in which she claims that the MSM have not done "nearly…

WashPost Columnist to Dems: Stop Those ‘Raise Your Hands’ Questions

July 16th, 2019 1:44 PM
Please stop raising your hands in unison to provide answers to questions that might destroy whatever chance you might have to win the 2020 presidential election. That is the big worry of Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne. And he is right. Answering affirmatively by raising your hand to the question of if you approve of giving healthcare to illegals or decriminalizing the unauthorized crossing…

WashPost's E.J. Dionne Furiously Spins Mueller Report Conclusions

March 25th, 2019 9:50 PM
Spin, Spin, Spin! The famous Benny Goodman tune was "Sing, Sing, Sing" but one could be forgiven if the Spin tune title comes to mind along with the tune while reading Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne's furious and often laughable spin on what is obviously for him a very disappointing Mueller Report. His highly entertaining spin control took place on Sunday in "Six takeaways from Barr’s…

MSNBC Scoffs: 'Not Great Look' for ‘White Male’ GOP to Rebuke Omar

February 12th, 2019 3:09 PM
The media spent Tuesday morning rushing to Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar’s aid, after she was criticized from both parties for making an anti-Semitic comment on Twitter, (not her first.) Politico first ran a story praising Omar as a “superstar villain” for the right, while MSNBC took that headline and ran a segment on MSNBC Live with Craig Melvin, trying to spin the Democrat scandal as a problem for…

December 18th, 2018 6:37 PM
During Sunday’s AM Joy, host Joy Reid and her panel took shots at White House adviser Stephen Miller, President Trump and his base for their “radical” views on immigration. The panel ultimately concluded that “Trump and his base are in a closed universe” and that “his base is scared of anyone who is not visibly white.”

Washington Post's E.J. Dionne Urges Rage and Revenge over Kavanaugh

October 8th, 2018 10:45 PM
Washington Post columnist is in such a rage over what he calls the "coup" of confirming Brett Kavanaugh as a Justice on the Supreme court that it caused his mind overload to the extent of forgetting about the federal system of government established by the Constitution. In addition, he is now out for revenge against conservatives by packing the Supreme Court chock full of additional seats…

NPR: Nunes Memo a 'Strange Episode' of GOP Attacking 'Law and Order'

February 3rd, 2018 7:28 AM
On NPR’s All Things Considered on Friday night, anchor Mary Louise Kelly dismissed the whole thing as a “strange episode” where the Republicans, “the party of law and order, [was] attacking the bureau charged with enforcing law and order in this country.” Somehow, it’s not a “strange episode” that NPR is sticking up for the integrity of the FBI, when just days ago, they were reminding listeners…

Righty on NPR: Top Immigrants 'Treated Worse Than the Tsarnaev Family'

January 14th, 2018 9:29 PM
In the midst of reports of the president’s unfortunate reference to immigration from “s---hole” countries, the PBS NewsHour analysts were agreeing with each other on everything on Friday, but NPR’s Week in Review segment brought listeners an actual debate. Conservative Orange County Register columnist John Phillips was back to shock NPR snobs with a pro-Trump set of arguments.

E.J. Dionne Symbolizes 'Media Too Thirsty for a Narrative Shift'

November 10th, 2017 2:02 PM
Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne seems to be the personification of what the Columbia Journalism Review meant when its writer Jon Alsop noted on November 9 that Media too thirsty for a narrative shift on Trump. Alsop pointed out that the liberal media, desperate for a win against President Donald Trump, have latched onto last Tuesday's election results as confirmation of their urgent hopes.…

WashPost's E.J. Dionne Predicts 'Trump Could Lose His Base'

August 4th, 2017 6:50 PM
Clear the decks! E.J. Dionne has a prediction! I repeat... E.J. Dionne has a prediction! The reason why this is so momentous is that Washington Post op-ed columnist E.J. Dionne has an absolutely humiliating track record with his Donald Trump predictions. It has been so bad that it would not be surprising if he had refrained from making any more Trump predictions ever.

E.J. Dionne Goes Bonkers Over Trump Victory

November 10th, 2016 9:50 PM
Less than a month after gloatingly predicting a major loss for Donald Trump, Washington Post columnist reacted on Wednesday to the election result in a highly bitter manner. Poor guy. His Beltway Bubble safe space is about to be punctured by those he spent over a year sneering at and his column reflects his rage. You would think someone with such a poor prediction track record would absorb just…

David Brooks: Trump's a Pig, Hillary's Like a Small Poetry Magazine

September 3rd, 2016 11:01 PM
On the Friday “Week in Politics” segment on NPR’s All Things Considered, liberal columnist E.J.  Dionne and “conservative” columnist David Brooks were as usual in agreement. Anchor Ari Shapiro asked about the FBI document-dump on their interview with Hillary about her private e-mail server. Dionne regurgitated the Hillary spin that these notes only underlined why FBI director James Comey…

E.J. Dionne, April 3: This Time It Really Is the End of Trump. Really.

April 27th, 2016 10:21 AM
This time it really is the end of Trump. Really. That was the title of the E.J. Dionne's column in the April 3 Washington Post. It was so spectacularly wrong in its prognostications that it really does deserve an award. Really. If only Dionne's column had been published two days earlier he could at least save some face by claiming it was just an April Fools joke. Unfortunately for Dionne, he…
