While the first three months of 2020 were overloaded with news -- ranging from the impeachment of President Trump to the arrival of the coronavirus outbreak -- the liberal MSNBC “news” channel failed to attract new viewers and matched the same ratings from a year ago. The stagnation in numbers comes in stark contrast to the Fox News Channel, which gained 38 percent during the same period, and even the ratings-challenged CNN, which actually grew its numbers by a surprising 18 percent.
In a Thursday evening interview with the Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier for Special Report, Dr. Deborah Birx, of the coronavirus task force subtlety and adeptly placed the blame on China for trying to cover up the existence of the coronavirus. She also shot down the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda that claimed the virus had started in the United States; effectively doing what many liberal media outlets refused to do.
As the liberal media were busy trying to gaslight the world into thinking that alternate names for the coronavirus (Wuhan Virus or Chinese Coronavirus) were racist, Tuesday’s CBS Evening News sought to help out China’s propaganda campaign and claim that they “attacked” the virus. In reality, China spent critical weeks pouring more resources into trying to stop information about the virus from spreading rather than trying to stop the virus itself.
Yet another Biden family member is in trouble and once again the nets are doing their best to bury the scandal. On Monday morning Politico broke the news that the FBI “raided a health care business linked to Joe Biden’s brother in late January.” The report alleged James Biden may have engaged in fraud and traded on his familial connection to the former Vice President. This bombshell report has yet to be reported on ABC, CBS, NBC’s evening or morning shows.
Despite pushback Wednesday night from at least two members of Zuckerville, FNC host Bret Baier and the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway torched the liberal media narrative during Special Report that Russian-backed Facebook ads threw the 2016 election to Donald Trump while, in reality, Michael Bloomberg’s hundreds of millions of dollars didn’t buy him the 2020 Democratic nomination.
Primetime was a great time for Fox News in February, when the channel drew its highest ratings ever and attracted an average of 3.5 million viewers during the second month of 2020. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the latest report from Nielsen Media Research noted that February was the 44th consecutive month the FNC has been the most-watched channel in all of basic cable and a 218-month streak as the most-watched cable news network.
Through the Tuesday broadcast network morning and evening newscasts, not a single second has been spent on news first uncovered Monday by our friend Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist that Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) “and other Democratic senators had a secret meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during the Munich Security Conference last week.”
The liberal broadcast networks did all they could to smear gun rights advocates who gathered in Virginia’s capital last month. They framed the advocates as terrorists, white supremacists, and generally violent. When they were proven wrong, they still invoked images of violence and lied about violence occurring. But on Monday, the hard work of those advocates paid off when an assault weapons ban was blocked by bipartisan opposition. Of course, the gun-rights agenda was not the network agenda, so it was ignored in favor of railing against Attorney General William Barr.
In a celebration on the South Lawn of the White House Wednesday, President Trump gathered with blue-collar workers, union leaders, CEOs, and Republican lawmakers to sign the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trade deal into law. It was a hard-fought campaign promise three years in the making that helped many Americans, but NBC Nightly News didn’t think it was noteworthy as they spent two minutes and 41 seconds on impeachment.
Thursday was the U.S. stock market’s first day of trading for the 2020 election year and as Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier said on Special Report, “stock markets picked up the new year where they left off in 2019” by setting new record highs, yet again. It was a great way to kick off the new year but as they’ve done with much of the positive economic news since President Trump took office, the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) completely ignored it during their evening newscasts.
In the midst of chasing down impeachment Tuesday, House Democrats and Republicans agreed to a truly massive $1.4 trillion spending deal that would shove the country’s yearly deficit to over $1 trillion. With the new out of control spending expected to be signed by President Trump and the national debt already over $23 trillion, news of the deal went unreported during the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC.
A complete and total blackout. That was how ABC, CBS, and NBC reacted on their Tuesday evening newscasts when the top Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge, Rosemary M. Collyer blasted the FBI for misleading the court when seeking surveillance warrants for a former Trump campaign staffer. The order was damning, accusing an FBI lawyer of a criminal act in intentionally lying to the court. It added that the court’s confidence in the FBI’s evidence was so shaken they needed extra oversight for all cases.
