MSNBC journalists immediately derided Donald Trump’s address to the nation about the government shutdown as a “scam” speech and dismissed real-world examples of crime by illegals as “immigrant crime stuff.” Live coverage host Rachel Maddow scoffed, “The President's speech was a scare stories of immigrants being terrible criminals who are coming into the United States to rape and murder Americans, especially in the President telling, for pleasure because it's in their nature.”

Previewing Donald Trump’s address to the nation on the government shutdown, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Tuesday night repeatedly and obsessively blamed the border battle on Rush Limbaugh, who the Hardball host derided as gutless. Matthews or his guests mentioned Limbaugh by name ten times in just one hour.

During Monday’s edition of Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough and his panel predicted that the Republican Party will be “reduced to dust” if it continues to stand behind President Trump amid the government shutdown. After calling him a liar, Scarborough asked “why does this party continue marching over the cliff like lemmings behind a guy...whose approval rating is about 40 percent on an issue where 75 percent of Americans oppose the President?”

Speaking to reporters Tuesday afternoon on the West Lawn of the White House near to where the networks have their cameras setup for live shots, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway demolished CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta for being a “smartass most of the time.”

On Tuesday’s Good Morning America, the network’s White House correspondent Jonathan Karl sat down with Vice President Mike Pence to grill him about President Trump not backing down on the border wall, laying blame for the government shutdown exclusively on him. Despite Democrats being unwilling to budge on the need for border security, the ABC reporter seethed to Pence that it was Trump’s fault that we were “in this mess.”

Throughout Monday, there were debates going on amongst liberal media executives regarding whether or not to air President Trump’s address to the nation about border security Tuesday night. By the end of the day, the major cable news outlets, as well as all three network broadcasters, announced they would carry it. But during CNN Tonight, host Don Lemon wasn’t sure they should for fear of Trump.

Whenever there’s an impasse in Washington, the liberal media always demand that Republicans “compromise” and work with Democrats. Of course, their definition of compromise is code for “just capitulate.” Now, in an effort to end the government shutdown and from talking with Border Patrol, President Trump has shifted positions on what the wall would look like and what it would be made out of. But CNN was not having Trump’s compromise and mocked him for it during Monday’s OutFront.

Appearing on NBC’s Today show Friday morning, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd lamented that President Trump’s “ego” was standing in the way of a deal being reached to end the government shutdown. Even after acknowledging that Democrats didn’t “have any political incentive to somehow compromise with the President,” Todd never referred to the egos of Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer being a problem.

This is what the liberal media not being able to control the narrative and what you, the public, know and don’t know. On Thursday afternoon, CNN’s The Lead threw a full-blown conniption after President Donald Trump appeared and then took no questions at a last-minute White House Press Briefing alongside National Border Patrol Council members. Fill-in host Brianna Keilar immediately seemed bewildered, noting that the President was “pulling the spotlight back to the White House and to his point of view, but it's — he didn't even take questions.”

Since the shutdown started, the general media tone has been something like this: Unreasonable Republicans are “digging in” as Democrats try and find a solution. But CBS This Morning did something different on Thursday. Reporter Tony Dokoupil actually went back into the past and found that high profile Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, supported placing big barriers on the southern border back in 2006.

On Wednesday, all three network morning shows rang in the New Year by touting Democrats trying to “bring order to the chaos of Trump’s Washington” and using the government shutdown to bash Republicans. In addition, the broadcasts hyped the impact of the budget impasse by claiming that America’s national parks were being overwhelmed by “mounds of trash.”

The liberal media’s latest go-to tactic is to claim that President Trump said something without proof or evidence when a statement is generally known to accurate. In the most recent case, Sunday’s edition of ABC’s Good Morning America denied evidence that the Democratic Party encourages illegal immigration resulting in children being put in dangerous situations, even deadly ones.
