In one of the only instances of former FBI Director James Comey being held to some form of account for his overseeing of the bureau’s misconduct during the Russia investigation, Fox News Channel anchor Chris Wallace grilled Comey on what he knew about lies his people were telling the FISA court, his false statements to the public, and whether or not he would resign if he was still the head of the FBI.
CNN Newsroom co-hosts Jim Sciutto and Poppy Harlow like to think of themselves as being on the front lines in President Trump's war against the truth. Trump's Tuesday rally in Pennsylvania in the aftermath of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report on the FBI's handling of Crossfire Hurricane provided the duo another chance to put on their fact-checking hats for their Wednesday show, but once again it was they who were the ones spreading misinformation.
With the release of the Inspector General’s report exposing FBI misconduct in pursuing the Trump campaign under the suspicion of Russian influence, the liberal media were more interested in bashing President Trump than criticizing the abuses of the FBI. CNN’s Anderson Cooper kicked off his show on Monday doing just that, suggesting President Trump was lying and “gaslighting.”
It was general versus general this Veteran’s Day on NBC’s Bluff City Law. After a malfunctioning GPS product kills several soldiers in misdirected airstrikes, Elijah Strait’s former mistress Gen. Virginia Howe seeks Strait and Associates help to expose the faulty product before it claims more lives.
Every Sunday, CNN's Brian Stelter hosts a show entitled Reliable Sources, but on Friday's edition of CNN Newsroom Stelter could be seen eagerly anticipating a new book by the most unreliable of source- that being of the anonymously written book that will purportedly be a behind the scenes look into the workings of the Trump Administration.
One could almost hear the excitement in anchor Lester Holt’s voice during Thursday’s NBC Nightly News when he announced the possibility of a second so-called whistleblower. “Meantime, there's a new report tonight out about a second government whistleblower, this time at the IRS,” he touted before going to chief White House correspondent Hallie Jackson, who eventually admitted the network hadn’t confirmed anything.
In the wake of multiple news reports that a secret CIA asset close to Vladimir Putin was spirited away in 2017 over fears Russian intelligence had uncovered him, NBC News decided to act on claims Russian officials made about the man’s identity and tracked down the asset themselves. The visit from NBC national security correspondent Ken Dilanian apparently prompted the U.S. government to move the asset and his family. It was something the network seemed proud of during Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News.
Over the past several days, the networks have delivered the latest example of the dominant liberal media suddenly taking notice of a normal government activity done by the Donald Trump administration and treating it as outrageous even though there was no media scrutiny when the same activity was also done by the Barack Obama administration.
Credit where it’s due: During Wednesday’s evening newscasts, CBS Evening News was the only network news program to report on the FBI’s expansive raids of current and former leaders of the United Auto Workers union. The corruption probe had been going on for four years and netted numerous convictions. Despite all of that, ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News completely ignored the story.
Dear fellow patriots: It's time to stop making nice with those who are waging war on ICE. Are you sick of your neighborhoods being hijacked by law enforcement-bashing thugs who prioritize every last illegal immigrant over law-abiding families, workers and employers? Are you sick of do-nothing politicians promising to take action while well-funded and well-organized protesters riot in our streets and obstruct criminal arrests?
CNN beclowned themselves last week after the hiring of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe while whining about former Trump press secretaries getting new TV gigs. Well, the self-proclaimed “facts first” network were in for another round of ribbing on social media Monday, after new information surfaced that McCabe could be close to facing federal charges for lying under oath to the Justice Department’s inspector general.
Just hours after MSNBC’s John Heilemann compared the idea of holding migrant children and their families in detention centers as they await adjudication of their asylum claims to “concentration camps,” primetime host Rachel Maddow had equally hyperbolic analysis. According to Maddow, the migrant detention centers are “kind of like Guantanamo.”
