President Trump’s late Monday morning press conference was originally to discuss the new trade agreement between Canada, Mexico, and the United States (USMCA), but many in the liberal media on hand dismissed its significance in favor of destroying Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. And thus the event quickly devolved into a fight over the FBI investigation concerning Kavanaugh because, for the media, that’s the only story worth talking about on TV to any significance.
Viewers of Dick Wolf’s Law & Order spinoffs knew better than to expect anything original when it came to his new show on CBS, FBI. Sure enough, it didn’t take very long at all for the old tired liberal TV tropes to appear on the September 25 series pilot.
While some of his liberal media colleagues were giving a megaphone to Democratic Senators demanding an FBI investigation into the attempted sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo was busy making false claims that the bureau had said nothing about not investigating the charges. But, in fact, they had declined to investigate.
MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews tried his best on Wednesday to help keep Brett Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court nominee in the face of a three-decades-old sexual misconduct allegation, peddling a conspiracy theory about accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and promoted a dubious claim from a Ford classmate.
With time running out for Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, to provide to some form of testimony with the Senate Judiciary Committee, the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) spent their Wednesday evening broadcasts giving a boost to Democratic calls for an investigation into the Supreme Court nominee. Of course, they failed in their duty to inform their viewers that the FBI had already declined to investigate when the charges were brought to them over the weekend.
In a last-ditch effort to sink the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA) sent a letter to the FBI asking them to investigate the candidate for an undisclosed reason. All Feinstein revealed to the public was that she received “new” information from a source she wouldn’t name. Apparently, NBC was the only broadcast network to not apply ‘the smell test’ since they were the only ones to run with it.
On Wednesday evening, CNN’s Chris Cuomo dedicated part of his show to discuss Mollie Tibbetts. Tibbetts was a young college student at the University of Iowa who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant. Her death has been politicized by both sides in the fight over immigration policy.
Taking to Twitter Tuesday morning, NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd lost it over anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok being fired and President Trump praising the dismissal. Ranting that the president’s criticism of Strzok was “extraordinary and un-democratic,” Todd feared that other “civil servants” would be intimidated by the supposed effort to “character assassinate.”
After deluging viewers with a seemingly unending amount of stories about fired ex-Donald Trump aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman, the networks on Monday night and Tuesday morning skimped on the news that anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok had been fired. ABC, CBS and NBC allowed just 9 minutes and 6 seconds of coverage to the development. In contrast, the gossipy reporting on Omarosa (over the same period) garnered 31 minutes and 20 seconds of obsessive coverage. (When you include Friday to Tuesday morning’s programming, her total reaches an astounding 124 minutes.)
On Thursday, at the direction of President Trump, America’s national security and intelligence chiefs lined up and spoke from the White House briefing room to reassure the country that they were doing everything in their power to combat Russian meddling in our elections. It was something the liberal media had been crying about for a long time, but the liberal media can never be pleased as CNN and MSNBC hosts decried the timing, moving the goal post.
Liberal ABC and NBC were in a full-blown meltdown Monday night after the White House announced the President was looking to revoke the security clearances of six former intelligence officials, whom they contend abused the privilege of retaining it after their tenure. They even tried to pretend most of the officials named weren't Obama appointees.
Sparks flew on Capitol Hill Thursday as House Republicans grilled anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok about his bias and its possible influence on the high-profile investigations of Hilary Clinton and President Donald Trump. The hearing was basically a zoo between Democratic outbursts, Strzok’s righteous indignation, and Republicans holding them back. Of course, liberal media outlets like ABC rushed to Strzok’s defense.
