Liberty University pulled off a huge upset Friday in the NCAA Tournament, enraging the school's anti-Christian critics at Deadspin blog all the more about the Flames' presence in the "Big Dance." Earlier in the week, Deadspin's podcast selected Liberty as the "most hatable" team in the tourney, and now writer Laura Wagner is praying for the retrograde ultra-right-wing bigots masquerading as Christians to lose their second-round game against Virginia Tech Sunday.

As was noted right here at  NewsBusters by P.J. Gladnick in a session at the Carnegie Endowment for  International Peace with Marvin Kalb, former ABC anchor Ted Koppel, the epitome of the Establishment media, had something startling to say. And as P.J. noted, Koppel sounded downright NewsBuster-y. Said he, in this clip captured by Nicholas Ballasy (with emphasis supplied): “I’m terribly concerned that when you talk about the New York Times these days."

Keep hope alive! Okay, yeah, the Mueller investigation looks like a bust, and won't produce any more indictments. But hey: there are still lots of other investigations out there! The dream continues! That was the theme of Joy Reid's MSNBC show this morning. Check out the mashup we've created, and you'll soon get the idea. From congressional investigations, to the Southern District of New York, it's investigations a go go!

On Friday’s edition of Real Time, host Bill Maher and his panel joined a long list of liberal media figures upset about the results of the Mueller report. Maher ended up dismissing the Mueller report altogether, arguing “I don’t need the Mueller report to know he’s a traitor. I have a TV.”

Late night comedians have put out the “Welcome” mat for Democrats running against President Donald Trump next year. We’ve already seen Sen. Kamala Harris fawned over by both Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah on The Late Show and The Daily Show, respectively. Sens. Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillebrand surfed Colbert’s couch, too, as did Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. Sen. Bernie Sanders appears regularly on Colbert’s show.

Appearing as a guest on Fox and Friends Saturday, during a discussion of liberal media reaction to the Mueller collusion probe, former CBS reporter Lara Logan complained that the media deceptively gave the impression that the indictments obtained so far are with regard to collusion with Russia when they were, in fact, about issues other than the main focus of the investigation.

It’s time for another edition of NewsBusters Time Machine. MSNBC journalists make a lot of statements that are highly mockable. But it was ten years ago today, on March 23, 2009, that fill-in host David Shuster derided the obvious liberal love affair for Barack Obama as a “fantasy.”

Liberals are that strange species that supports abortion on demand and yet in their strongholds,  like the District of Columbia, they hire inspectors to fine restaurants hundreds of dollars for offering their customers plastic straws. It’s not surprising that television shows don’t base entire plots on the “Straw Cops.” But they do insert plots that promote the feminist “empowerment” of abortion.

Perhaps no single reaction Friday night to the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation rivaled that of MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews, who was apoplectic, inconsolable, and irate at the notion the Mueller team will not offer any further indictments in hopes of criminal charges concerning Russian collusion. And even his most adored guests couldn’t avoid his scorn.

On Sunday's AM Joy show on MSNBC, host Joy Reid and The Intercept's Mehdi Hasan devoted a segment to fretting that there is a double standard in the treatment of Muslims as compared to whites after a mass shooting. Reid also invoked a debunked claim that white supremacist Dylann Roof was given special treatment after the Charleston massacre, and Hasan cited a misleading study claiming that most terrorism in the U.S. in the past decade has been perpetrated by whites.

On Friday, ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News made sure to include amidst their extensive coverage on the completion of the Mueller Report that, despite the lack of any future indictments from the Special Counsel, House Democrats still have an increasing number of ongoing investigations into every aspect of President Trump’s life that could prove perilous for the White House.

Well, it’s finally here. Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his report on the Russia investigation to Attorney General William Barr and the liberal media began to conflagrate. During the early evening buzz on MSNBC’s MTP Daily, host Chuck Todd seemed to express concern over the fact that Mueller allowed President Trump and his legal team to answer written questions, instead of testifying before a grand jury.

On Friday afternoon after the Mueller Report had been handed over to Attorney General Bill Barr, chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin and crime and justice reporter Shimon Prokupecz conceded that the lack of further indictments (sealed or unsealed) in relation to the Mueller probe is a “huge victory for the President” and “really good news” for individuals who had been subject to endless media speculation.

The American news media and social media went from tweeting Friday afternoon about March Madness to going apoplectic over the conclusion of the Office of the Special Counsel led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller meant to investigate relations between the Trump campaign and Russia. For CNN’s The Situation Room, analysts and hosts took turns being — well — all over the map over what could be in the report.

News broke on Friday that Special Counsel Robert Muelller has submitted his report to the Department of Justice. All three networks broke in with ABC admitting that it’s now “possible there was no collusion” and that Donald Trump might be vindicated “to some degree.” While we don’t know what’s in the report, the ABC journalists indicated that liberals might be in for disappointment. Terry Moran prepared viewers: “So it is possible we will learn a conclusion, the broad conclusion very quickly. Which is that there was no collusion.”
