Media Research Center President Brent Bozell on Monday concluded that the New York Times is simply giving up reporting actual news and that the paper is now controlled by a liberal mob of readers. Appearing on Fox Business’s Varney and Co. to discuss the internal Times meeting about shifting from collusion to racism, Bozell declared, “So now they switch to racism to placate those readers. Call me silly, but I thought they were supposed to be reporting news. But they're not. They are doing what their left-wing readers want them to do.”
One of the ways that "objective" reporters betray a liberal bias is in the use of ideological labels. Journalists warn people about "conservative" groups, while the liberal groups they favor aren't described as liberal, but with ameliorative PR terms like "civil rights groups," "environmental advocates," and "women's groups." David Rutz at the Washington Free Beacon offered new evidence by studying a New York Times blog called "The Interpreter," authored by Max Fisher and Amanda Taub, both formerly at the liberal blog Vox.
Twitter is an American company, but the social media platform has been taking money from the People’s Republic of China to run ads against the Hong Kong pro-democracy protests. Pinboard, the social bookmarking website run by developer Maciej Cegłowski, captured ads on Twitter from China Xinhua News which called for “a brake to be put on the blatant violence” in Hong Kong.
Congress may be almost evenly divided these days, but not on the liberal cable news networks. A new study by the Media Research Center finds that CNN and MSNBC host Democratic Representatives and Senators seven times more frequently than their Republican counterparts, and most often use Democratic talking points to question members of both parties.
HBO’s latest fiasco in entertainment, The Righteous Gemstones, premiered on Sunday night. Nudity? Check. Unnecessary profanity? Check. Extremely mind-numbing content? Check. So what sets this show apart from the rest of the junk HBO puts out? Not much. The storyline which is centered around a Rich celebrity pastor, Eli Gemstone (John Goodman), and his family—a greedy and very corrupted bunch of people—comes across as a mockery of Christians.
Though the NFL recently tilted further to the cultural Left by aligning with rapper Jay-Z for the direction of future Super Bowl entertainment, ESPN's race-baiting Bomani Jones is ripping the new partners for selling out Colin Kaepernick. Jones took to the sports section of the ESPN blog, The Undefeated, to bash billionaire NFL owners, Jay-Z and "white supremacist" President Donald Trump while defending Kaepernick's social justice crusade.
Byron York at the Washington Examiner reports The New York Times is embarking on a very ambitious crusade to define slavery as the dominant narrative of America, even to this day .The project was launched with an entire edition of The New York Times Magazine loaded with left-wing essays on slavery's everlasting effects.
In a rare moment of truth-telling on CNN Sunday, New York Times Opinion staff writer and editor Bari Weiss openly admitted to the Reliable Sources panel that the media was purposely ignoring the blatant anti-Semitism espoused by Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar (MN) and Rashida Tlaib (MI) because of President Trump.
They blew it again: After the New York Times’s pathetic response to the violent left-wing protestors of Antifa assaulted conservative journalist, the paper has apparently learned nothing. it accomplished more lousy reporting about Antifa on the latest clash in Portland, Oregon, for Sunday’s paper. The clear labeling bias served the radical, violent left-wing protest group: “Tensions Rise as Far-Right and Anti-Fascist Groups Face Off in Portland.” The conservative protesters were given various appellations of “right” and “far right,” while the violent left-wingers, their identities hidden under masks, were given their preferred flattering description, “anti-fascist.”
On New Day Sunday, CNN promoted global warming activist Greta Thunberg as the climate alarmist prepared for a publicity stunt to precede her appearance at the United Nations climate summit, The Swedish teen made a name for herself among the left in a speech last year railing against adults for not doing more to stop global warming, which was highlighted by CNN at the time.
With Antifa still assaulting and harassing peaceful “right-wing” marchers, police, and journalists in the streets of Portland, Oregon on Saturday, CNN Newsroom host Ana Cabrera and the network found it controversial that President Trump would want to accurately brand the extreme far-left group as the domestic terrorists that they were. She would tee up New Mexico Congresswoman Debra Haaland to defend the group as “peaceful protesters”.
On Joy Reid's MSNBC show, Tiffany Cross, co-founder of The Beat DC, says that Trump supporters suffer from a "willful layer of ignorance." In contrast, claims Cross, Democrats are a "much more intellectually curious crowd, open to ideas."
The domestic terrorist organization known as Antifa carried out attacks at a “right-wing” rally in Portland, Oregon on Saturday by targeting peaceful rally goers, police, and members of the press. As the liberal media have done in the past, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Sunday Today, carried water for the extreme left-wing terrorists by downplaying their actions and by suggesting they’re simply “counter-protesters”.
On the front of Sunday's Washington Post, transgender movement orthodoxy overcame common-sense pronouns again. The story was headlined "Non-binary, pregnant and taking on motherhood: They are not a woman, but they are about to assume the most gendered role of all." Online, the headline was "A mother, but not a woman." Mmm, so which gender does the uterus represent? It was an enormous story, with nine photographs, and taking up two entire inside pages (no advertisements).
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib were barred from visiting Israel, and the New York Times was not pleased. An editorial on Friday had an anti-Israel slant and a whitewash of the anti-Semitic nonprofit co-sponsoring the trip, along with a helpful link to their website. Two lead stories Saturday painted Israel's move as a win for the left-wing anti-Israel movement in both countries: "Israelis concerned about the health of the relationship with the United States worried aloud on Friday that by barring members of Congress at all, let alone because of their political views, the Netanyahu government had gravely jeopardized Israel’s bipartisan support in Washington."
