On MSNBC, Left-Wing Celebrity Kooks Griffin and Reiner Plot Impeachment

March 1st, 2017 1:51 PM

The far-left celebrity circus came out in full force on a special post-speech edition of Hardball, Tuesday. As if Bill Maher mocking a war widow as a “prop” wasn’t enough, liberal comic Kathy Griffin and director Rob Reiner both hyped impeachment conspiracy theories. Griffin speculated, “I feel like this whole crowd, they are truly going to go down.”

She lectured, “Don't forget: Agnew resigned before Nixon. So, there could be a situation where more than one person goes down.” Reacting to his address to Congress, Griffin compared Donald Trump to a drug addict in a reality TV show: “But this administration, cabinet is like the final scene in an episode of Intervention.”

At one point, she openly cheered Chris Matthews’s liberal agenda, touting, “Chris, please tell me you are never going to let go of the Russian ties story. I really think it's the one.”

Griffin also wanted to impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. It’s her default response for Republicans. In 2005, she melted down: “Impeach them, get them out! I hate them! I hate them. Get them out. They got to go!...What is it going to take for you people? Get Bush out! Impeach. Out! Out! Out!"

Later in the show, Matthews talked to Reiner. The director theorized as to what Mike Pence was thinking during the President’s speech: “He's also sitting there saying, ‘I'm going to be the president pretty soon.'”

Matthews and Reiner speculated:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Do you think he keeps leaking all this stuff? Rob, do you think he is the leaker? Do you think he's the leaker?

ROB REINER: Listen, if I were Pence I would be leaking like a sieve. I mean, he has a chance to become president.

On this same show, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore appeared as did Bill Maher. Maher snarled at war widow Carryn Owens, lamenting that she allowed herself to be a “prop” for Trump.

KATHY GRIFFIN: I feel like this whole crowd, they are truly going to go down. The good news, as I say to my younger friends, “Don’t forget: Agnew resigned before Nixon. So, there could be a situation where more than one person goes down. But this administration, cabinet is like the final scene in an episode of Intervention. But this time the interventionist says — okay, the interventionist says — “Okay, Donald, you are not just going to rehab, we are going to send everybody. Bannon, you gotta go. Kellyanne, you are next. Steve Miller, all the Millers gotta go.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: You’re obviously a comedian because you remember Spiro Agnew. Material like this — Here is a guy who went around speaking about morality. How we have to have better morality. But he was taking bags, brown bags of cash as the Vice President of the United States in the old executive office building.

GRIFFIN: Yes.

MATTHEWS: They were delivering big bags with cash in it from the contractors in Maryland for a little late payment for some of his work as governor down there. And it never occurred to him, “I'm a thief.”

GRIFFIN: Yeah. Chris, please tell me you are never going to let go of the Russian ties story. I really think it's the one. I think it’s bipartisan. There is so much there. There is so many people that could be implicated. There are so then a things happening that look to the average citizen this could be a result of whatever conversations were happening I don't think it's just Flynn.

MATTHEWS: I’m watching him [Pence at the speech] and yet, tonight, he seemed to have a chuckle, a grin. When the guy — he’s president. The guy he’s on the ticket with — he’s Vice President of the United States, he is laughing to himself when Trump is talking about this great, great wall. I mean, he knows it is a con. It is a carney act. And he is chuckling over it, right in front of us.

ROB REINER: Yes. Not only does he know that's a con, but he's also sitting there saying, “I'm going to be the president pretty soon, as soon. As all of this -- as soon of all of the connections to Russia and how it was coordinated with him and all the money’ that’s exchanged.

MATTHEWS: Do you think he keeps leaking all this stuff? Rob, do you think he is the leaker? Do you think he’s the leaker?

REINER: Listen, if I were Pence I would be leaking like a sieve. I mean, he has a chance to become president.
