In a sign of the challenges ahead for Trump from social media censors and their journalistic allies as the 2020 campaign heats up, the New York Times is pouting that Facebook won’t censor a Trump campaign ad attacking Joe Biden over his son’s sketchy dealings in Ukraine. Reporter Cecilia Kang fretted that “Facebook Won’t Pull Ads That Lie.” After avoiding it for decades, the Times has embraced the word “lie” during Donald Trump’s administration, and now uses it in a headline to pressure Facebook, in effect working the refs for Joe Biden and Democrats in general.
On Wednesday night, Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson exposed media hypocrisy when it comes to whistleblowers that advance their causes while ignoring or undermining those that do not accomplish it. After noting that “CNN, Democrats, and the rest of Washington” agree that “the Ukraine whistleblower is a hero...doing a vital service this country,” Carlson pointed out that “we have whistleblowers here (in Washington) and they’re almost always ignored and mistreated by the people in power. All the cool kids look down on real whistleblowers.
Conservative media reporter-turned-liberal charlatan and CNN senior political reporter Oliver Darcy rallied behind the Biden campaign on Wednesday night to defend the Joe Biden campaign, gushing about their strongly-worded letter to The New York Times demanding an end to coverage critical of the former Vice President and his corrupt son Hunter. Darcy filed the Reliable Sources newsletter in place of boss Brian Stelter, leading off with an exclusive and the subhead, “Biden campaign blasts NYT in letter to Dean Baquet.”
The Hill pulled its punches when it reported liberal mega-donor 2020 candidate Tom Steyer's recently released economic plan, which included “election reform measures, a wealth tax and a mandatory minimum wage hike.” The Hill reported Oct. 7 one of Steyer’s biggest ambitions in his economic plan: “Steyer, a billionaire philanthropist, calls to repeal Citizens United, the 2010 Supreme Court case that allowed for unlimited spending on campaigns.”
Politicians, they are just like us. There are very few people who enjoy the ever-nauseating segments where presidential candidates attempt to humanize themselves by relating to ordinary citizens on liberal television shows. Despite that, Stephen Colbert invited some of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to participate in one of these stunts on The Late Show, Wednesday night.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports on Thursday, Washington Post deputy editorial page editor and columnist Ruth Marcus warned that President Trump’s criticism of the anonymous whistleblower who sparked the impeachment inquiry could inspire some of Trump’s “deranged” Twitter followers to “use violence” if the unknown government official’s identity was ever revealed.
One of the fiercest critics of the House Democrats' impeachment efforts to this point has been South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and as such he made himself a target for a self-righteous panel on Wednesday's Andrea Mitchell Reports. The panel anti-Graham segment that eventually morphed into an anti-Senate Republican segment was an exercise in hypocrisy, contradiction, and historical revisionism.
Bonchie at RedState.com points out that PolitiFact is mangling its Truth-o-Meter again to attack Donald Trump and defend Barack Obama.
Apple has no problem being woke, except when it might cost the company billions of dollars. Apple removed an app, called HKmap.live, from the app store after it received criticism from the Chinese government. People’s Daily, the Chinese state newspaper, wrote a piece on Oct. 8 criticizing Apple. Two days later, Apple pulled the app down, saying it “threatens public safety.” Quartz Investigative editor John Keefe reported that Apple also took down the Quartz app in China.
The recent Chinese/NBA debacle is a time of reckoning for folks who take athlete activism seriously. In the past, superstar Golden State Warrior captain Stephen Curry has been quite vocal about status quo lefty politics and his hatred for Donald Trump, but like his coward coach, Steve Kerr, the outspoken can’t star seem to find an answer when asked about actual oppression from the NBA’s business partner, the communist Chinese government.
The journalists on CBS This Morning last week brought on former Obama/Biden aide Susan Rice to defend Joe Biden. This week, however, they seemed annoyed that Rand Paul wouldn’t get on board the impeachment train. The co-hosts ignored the Republican Senator’s points about Joe and Hunter Biden, instead repeating the same question over and over.
The company behind “World of Warcraft” has been vilified by its fans and its employees have walked out in protest after it banned a professional gamer for supporting Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters.Activision Blizzard employees walked out of work on Tuesday at their campus in Irvine, California. The walkout happened after Blizzard announced a one-year suspension and withheld prize money from Hong Kong-based competitive Hearthstone player Chung Ng-wai, better known as “Blitzchung.”
“Resign! Get Out!” The View co-host Joy Behar demanded of President Trump, to start Thursday’s show. Behar blasted Republicans, who were criticizing the President for pulling U.S. forces out of Syria in the fight against ISIS, but didn’t “stand up” to him over the border family separation policy. Her co-host Sunny Hostin also misled viewers by falsely claiming a Fox News poll showed 25% of Republicans now supported impeachment.
NBC’s Chuck Todd decreed a “National nightmare is upon us.” CNN host Don Lemon and former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather proclaimed that Donald Trump has “Out-Nixoned Nixon.” And when former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld claimed Trump’s “treason” was punishable by death, an MSNBC contributor’s response was to casually inquire “Have you looked into this?...How do you see this proceeding?” The following is just a sampling of the most egregious outbursts from the liberal media and celebrities from the past few weeks.
Reporting live from the Ukrainian capital of Kiev on Thursday for ABC’s Good Morning America, correspondent Tom Llamas proudly touted how he repeatedly grilled the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on whether President Trump was “corrupt.”
