On the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, you would have thought people would have been clamoring for the liberal views espoused by CNN and MSNBC.

Such wasn't the case, for last Friday, Fox News clobbered its competition from the moment the sun rose till the time most people went to bed.

Data published by TVByTheNumbers.com show FNC averaged 1.2 million total viewers that day, 241k in the all important demographic of people aged 25-54. CNN did 374k and 121k respectively, MSNBC 396k and 128k.

The domination got even worse in prime time when FNC averaged 1.82 million in total viewers and 278k in the demo; CNN did 518k and 146k respectively, MSNBC 558k and 188k.

Things were no better for the liberal networks in the morning as Fox garnered 1.2 million total viewers and 278k in the demo while CNN did 233k and 115k respectively and MSNBC did 386k and 117k.

Although the most-watched program of the night was FNC's O'Reilly Factor with 2.3 million total viewers, the most dominant performance came from that network's Special Report which got 2.2 million total viewers and 407k in the demo.

This was an absolute trouncing of CNN whose two half-hour shows in this time slot averaged 322k in total viewers and only 89k in the demo. MSNBC had 701k and 186k respectively.

Add it all up and it seems that on the 50th anniversary of the death of one of the nation's most beloved Democratic presidents, Americans were far more interested in what Fox News had to say on the subject than the perilously liberal offerings of CNN and MSNBC.
