Newsweek's Tina Brown: 'Obama'd Be Impeached By Now For Drones If He Was Bush'

Newsweek/Daily Beast editor Tina Brown said something Friday night that should wake up the Left and their media minions.

Appearing on HBO's Real Time, Brown said during the online Overtime segment, "He'd [Obama] be impeached by now for drones if he was W. Bush" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

BILL MAHER, HOST: [Reading from viewer question] “The Obama administration has been heavily targeting whistleblowers" - true - "and information activists. What can we do to hold the government accountable for this harsh crackdown?” Yeah, the Democrats, [Laughs], their view on Obama seems to be “God, what he does would be awful if it was a Republican.”

This was met with scattered, nervous laughter on the panel and in the audience.

TINA BROWN, EDITOR NEWSWEEK/DAILY BEAST: I mean, he'd be impeached by now for drones if he was W. Bush.

MAHER: Impeached? No.

BROWN: Yeah, don't you think? I mean, don’t you think…

MAHER: Impeached for…

BROWN: Well, I think…

MAHER: By who? What?

BROWN: I think that if this was a Republican president, the outcry about drones would be far greater.

Indeed it would.

Yet what was telling was how this was met with very little applause from Maher’s liberal crowd thereby proving Brown’s point: Obama can do anything he wants INCLUDING killing Americans and his devoted fans will continue to support him.

Sad but true.
