The liberal media’s fear-mongering has gotten out of control. Watchers of Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News were given the impression that the Trump administration was content with anywhere between 100,000 and 240,000 Americans dying to the coronavirus in the next few weeks. That’s because correspondent Geoff Bennett flagrantly lied and claimed that projection was their “best-case scenario.” In reality, it was far from it.
Is Twitter going easy on dictators because the platform is too busy censoring conservatives? Several Twitter accounts belonging to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were suspended early Tuesday March 31, according to Al Arabiya English. Khamenei maintained multiple accounts in various languages that would tweet to audiences that spoke English, Farsi, Russian, and Spanish. After reinstating his accounts, a Twitter spokesperson responded to a NewsBusters inquiry, explaining that “These accounts were immediately reinstated. They were mistakenly caught in a spam filter.”
Fox News host Laura Ingraham ran afoul of Twitter’s new Coronavirus rules, and was punished for it. Ingraham (@IngrahamAngle) tweeted: "Lenox Hill in New York among many hospitals already using Hydroxychloroquine with very promising results. One patient was described as ‘Lazarus’ who was seriously ill from Covid-19, already released."
Far-left HBO host John Oliver on Sunday used his show to go on a profanity-laced rant about the coronavirus, the President and the “market worship” that risks becoming a “fucking death cult.” What was most galling, however, was his efforts to pretend that there is nothing political going on in how some on the left are covering the virus crisis.
Even in this time of crisis and death, some in the news media launched partisan attacks on Republican governors regardless of actual data, including how many people have died. We see this in the media all the time: journalists often cherry-pick commentary and data to support the side they like and attack the other. Here we see an example on the left. Last week, CNN's "The Point with Chris Cillizza" published an article, “The next 5 governors to watch on coronavirus.” In it, Cillizza discussed seven governors and strongly criticized the only two Republican governors mentioned.
On Tuesday, MSNBC anchor Katy Tur hoped the United States would be reshaped into a socialist country following the coronavirus pandemic as she recited a wish list of left-wing agenda items for Democrats to pursue amid the crisis.
Do parents pay attention to the children’s TV programming their kids absorb? If not they should. If so, how do they feel about channels pushing boutique woke politics that deny human nature, biology and objective truth? Liberal parents might be okay with it. Maybe it gives them something to brag about to their lesbian neighbors.
Isn't it appropriate that the day preceding April Fool's Day is "TDoV": The International Transgender Day of Visibility? It's a magical day when people can celebrate their transcendence over biology, a day when LGBTQ folks can fool people into thinking that males can be females and females can be males.
During a softball interview with socialist Senator Bernie Sanders on Monday, aired early Tuesday morning, NBC’s Late Night host Seth Meyers urged the far-left presidential candidate to use the coronavirus pandemic to push Medicare for All. In subsequent questions, Meyers teed up the Vermont lawmaker to repeatedly bash his Republican Senate colleagues.
Arguing that the current health care system is failing at a time of great importance, MSNBC Live guest host Yasmin Vossoughian tried to use the worsening coronavirus pandemic to push likely Democratic nominee Joe Biden further to the left on the issue and get him to support a single payer system.
Facebook is committing 100 million dollars toward local journalism hit hard in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Facebook has reportedly already invested $300 million in local news companies, but following recent events, Facebook will commit $100 million more. Facebook VP of Global News Partnerships Campbell Brown announced via a company blog on March 30 that Facebook will be making this massive follow-up commitment. Brown wrote that Facebook will donate “$25 million in emergency grant funding for local news through the Facebook Journalism Project, and $75 million in additional marketing spend[ing] to move money over to news organizations around the world."
It used to be that liberals in the media complained that there weren’t enough White House press briefings. Now, there are too many. According to MSNBC host Chris Hayes, it’s both “crazy” and “dangerous” to simply air Donald Trump’s coronavirus updates. He complained, "But I personally can’t help but feel these daily sessions are bad for the country, even dangerous from a public health perspective."
Guardians of The Galaxy star and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista is trying to impress his media and Hollywood friends by putting President Trump in a political half-nelson. The actor hopped on social media to torch Trump for supposedly botching the government’s response to the pandemic.
MRC founder and president Brent Bozell took to Twitter on Monday to underline how non-essential PBS/NPR stations are taking $75 million from the emergency $2 trillion "stimulus" bill to deal with the economic ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic. Look at what America did NOT get because of PBS/NPR handouts.
In the manipulative mind of the media, granting President Trump any semblance of credit would be far too much of an ask. Doctoring and misconstruing footage of President Trump is the M.O. of the press even during times of crisis, as proven by an article published Monday on MSNBC’s website by Steve Benen.
