Cuomo: 'I Don't Buy' CNN’s Report Vaccine Distribution Starting 'From Scratch'

January 21st, 2021 11:33 PM

CNN was caught in an awkward situation Thursday after they first touted anonymous sources within the Biden administration as having told them they planned to rebuild COVID vaccine distribution “from scratch.” But shortly thereafter, Dr. Anthony Fauci blew up their story. Apparently, CNN’s reporting was so ridiculous that even PrimeTime host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo says he doesn’t “buy” what his network reported.

Another thing that I don't buy comes out of our reporting. I have two new pieces of reporting. The first one is that people within the administration say they're starting from scratch with the vaccine. No, they're not,” he exclaimed during an interview with Fauci.

From there, Cuomo went on about how it made no sense to start over because there was already a distribution infrastructure in place:

CUOMO: You have an infrastructure out there that you are well aware of. It has to be improved. But --

FAUCI: Right.

CUOMO: --they shouldn't get any benefit of a low bar here either. You know, there’s a lot going on already. Are they going to scrap it or are they going to build on it and make it better?

“No. No, they're not going to scrap it, Chris. I mean, I was involved in the development of that stuff. They're not going to scrap that,” Fauci bragged. “No, we're going to be building on things. We’re not going to be destroying and putting aside, saying it’s useless … We're not going to trash anything.”

Of course, the reason CNN ran with the claims from yet another anonymous was that it would give them something else to chide the former Trump administration with. But CNN will likely still trust their source for future dubious reporting despite the facts.

Cuomo should also start questioning his own reporting; as earlier in his show, Cuomo gave us another early contender for 2021’s most Fredo moments when he showed just how historically ignorant he was.

Growing more and more irate, Cuomo lashed out at Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) for daring to wear a face mask with the common phrase “Come and Take It” embroidered on the side, claiming the Senator was supporting domestic terrorism by flaunting it.

And then Cruz comes to the inauguration yesterday, a day that was supposed to be about unity, in this stupid mask,” he sneered. “‘Come and take it’ is sewn on it. A revolution symbol. It carried the Trump virus, these guys, and it is just as sickening to us as COVID in terms of our democracy.”

He added: “This symbol, that was waved around domestic terrorists who came to the Capitol on the 6th. That's what we want in our leaders? Come and get it? To keep showing solidarity with the worst of us who tried to violently take down our democracy?

Fredo apparently paid as much attention in his high school American history class as he did in his law school classes. Cruz wore the mask because the phrase held a special place in the history of Texas. Historically, it was flown during Texas’s war with Mexico when they fought for independence. The Senator was wearing it as a symbol of his state, not a sign of solidarity with domestic terrorists.

In fact, back in November when Fredo was calling Cruz a "COVIDiot," he showed off a picture of the Senator wearing the same "Come and Take It" mask. So, it was not new.

Ignoramuses. This is CNN.

Chris Cuomo’s ridiculousness was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Norton Antivirus and Liberty Mutual. Their contact information is linked so you can let them now about the biased news they’re funding.

CHRIS CUOMO: And those people also said they weren't just acting on Trump. They were acting on Senator Cruz's urging as well. Not hearing anything from the Republican caucus in the Senate about him, right? Imagine if he were a Democrat.

And then Cruz comes to the inauguration yesterday, a day that was supposed to be about unity, in this stupid mask. He wore the same one on insurrection day when he voted to overturn the election on the basis of no proof but polls. “Come and take it” is sewn on it. A revolution symbol. It carried the Trump virus, these guys, and it is just as sickening to us as COVID in terms of our democracy.

This symbol, that was waved around domestic terrorists who came to the Capitol on the 6th. That's what we want in our leaders? Come and get it? To keep showing solidarity with the worst of us who tried to violently take down our democracy?

Don't allow it. Demand it be called out. And watch the places that do the job for you.

FAUCI: No. No, they're not going to scrap it, Chris. I mean, I was involved in the development of that stuff. They're not going to scrap that. There are a lot of good things that happened with the development of the vaccine program. I mean, Operation Warp speed had a lot of successes. There were some missteps. But a lot of successes there.

No, we're going to be building on things. We’re not going to be destroying and putting aside, saying it’s useless. We're going to take the good parts and amplify them, make them better, and we’re going to go for the goal. And that is to get as many people vaccinated as you possibly can as expeditiously as you can. That is the goal. We're not going to trash anything.
