Following his vote to convict President Trump on the impeachment charge of abuse of power, which ultimately failed, NBC Nightly News made their feelings clear and gave Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) a hero’s welcome. In back-to-back segments, they praised him for “voting his conscience over his party” and dubbed him “the president of the Republican resistance to Donald Trump.”
On the morning after President Donald Trump delivered his 2020 State of the Union address, there was further evidence of how heavily skewed toward the left that CNN has become as New Day did not feature a single pro-Trump guest to react to the speech. But the four-hour special edition of the flagship morning show did make time for three Democratic members of Congress and one liberal Republican CNN contributor to react negatively to the President's words.
Picking up from Nick Fondacaro’s item on some of CNN’s initial reactions to the Senate trial coming to an end Wednesday afternoon, the Jeffrey Zucker-led circus continued into The Situation Room. Most notably, Fake News Jim hailing Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) and seven panelists ganging up on former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) over, well, how one could act on principle and not want to remove President Trump.
MSNBC reacted to the acquittal of Donald Trump in the Senate with a predictably unhappy tone, speculating about the day when the truth will really come out. But Brian Williams took it a step farther and questioned the faith of certain unnamed senators.
Moments after the Senate acquitted President Trump of the impeachment charges against him, CNN’s The Lead looked to the future and to House Democrats who were zealously trying to drum up more impeachment charges. “Double jeopardy does not apply in politics,” chief national correspondent John King proclaimed to the rest of the panel, clearly looking for Trump to be retried on the charges he was just found “not guilty” of committing.
Republicans and Democrats do not tend to agree on a much these days, but both sides of the aisle have come together to agree on at least one thing -- both distrust Big Tech.
Viewers of Telemundo’s morning talk show Un Nuevo Día, woke up to a report that, instead of actually reporting the content of President Trump's State of the Union Address, focused on the very nasty words of first-term congresswoman Veronica Escobar, from Texas, who was assigned to deliver the Democrat rebuttal in Spanish.
On Tuesday night, during a special live edition of the CBS Late Show following President Trump's State of the Union address, host Stephen Colbert was joined by Washington Post “journalists” Carol Leonnig and Phillip Rucker. The proposal was made by Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault, who was assigned to update the country’s broadcasting laws and stated that even Internet news sites will each be “asked” to obtain a government-approved license.
MSNBC journalists on Wednesday responded with excitement to the news that Mitt Romney will vote to convict and remove Donald Trump from office. Brian Williams cheered that the move as “historic” and will “cement Romney’s legacy.” Reporter Garrett Haake touted it as “unlocking his super power.” Williams, who famously lost his job as anchor of the NBC Nightly News, marveled at taking seriously one’s oath: “How about a guy willing to talk about the consequences of taking an oath before his God?”
After praising Nancy Pelosi’s antics at last night’s State of the Union address, The View hosts reserved their rage for President Trump awarding Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg claimed the influential talk radio host had done nothing to deserve it, while Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin attacked Limbaugh as a racist bigot.
Legendary conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh received an honor of a lifetime when President Donald Trump presented him with the Medal of Freedom at Tuesday’s State of the Union address. But his haters in the liberal media couldn’t let Limbaugh – who just announced he is battling advanced lung cancer – have this one heartwarming moment for his family and millions of fans to savor without attacking him as an undeserving racist.
The morning after President Trump gave the State of the Union address, the hosts of The View were practically bowing down to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for dramatically tearing the speech in two. Co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin were enthusiastic about the disrespectful display, lauding Pelosi “masterfully” “playing hardball” with Republican “fascists and criminals.”
It really, really bothered Washington Post deputy editor of the Morning Mix, Timothy Bella, that Rush Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday during President Donald Trump's State of the Union address. It irked him so much that in his long article he kept returning over and over to the theme that Limbaugh was somehow not worthy of the award in comparison to other who received it.
After Iowa Democrats embarrassed themselves in front of the whole country, MSNBC Live's Stephanie Ruhle took to the air on Tuesday to express to Maryland Sen.
