Democrat 2020 candidate and former Obama cabinet member Julián Castro came on ABC’s The View Thursday following last night’s Democratic debate, to receive softballs and high praise from the liberal hosts. While Meghan McCain pressed him on his support for open borders, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar lavished praise on his performance and didn’t critique any of his far-left policies.
Democratic leaders have not only accused social media of enabling misinformation, but speculated Big Tech companies profit from it. Politicians on both sides of the aisle raked social media over the coals at a June 26 hearing before the House Homeland Security Committee. Representatives from Google, Facebook, and Twitter testified over how social media companies handle misinformation, terror content, and “deepfake” videos.
When liberal donor George Soros and several other liberal billionaires called for a wealth tax, the media swooned. Soros, Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, heiress Abigail Disney and 15 others wrote an open letter calling on presidential candidates to adopt a wealth tax on the top 1/10 of 1 percent.
While analyzing the first Democratic debate, on Thursday, ABC’s Good Morning America actually admitted the far-left ideology of many of the 2020 candidates and even fretted that those radical positions were “playing right into” President Trump’s reelection strategy.
Left-wing Guardian columnist George Monbiot is often unhinged on climate issues. Now he’s blasted Royal Dutch Shell for extracting oil and gas that “will destroy our lives” and calling it a “planetary death machine.” Of course, his oil is evil attitude ignored all that the form of energy did to enable modern civilization’s existence and improve human life.
The NBC/MSNBC/Telemundo panel that questioned the first 10 Democratic 2020 candidates spent most of Wednesday night’s debate cuing up liberal talking points and rarely confronted the contenders with the idea that their hard-edged leftism might drive away middle-of-the-road voters. An MRC analysis finds 39 of the questions at the debate echoed liberal talking points or were framed around a liberal world view, vs. only five that challenged liberal/Democratic assumptions.
On Thursday’s CBS This Morning, chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett was not pleased with NBC’s handling of Wednesday night’s first Democratic primary debate. The reporter panned the moderators for giving Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren “five questions in the first 40 minutes” and therefore boosting her candidacy.
On Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski claims Elizabeth Warren won the Democrat debate by rejecting stereotypes about what women should avoid, and instead being "aggressive" and "pissed off" and living her message.
Apparently, CNN can tell the truth about the media’s liberal bias. But seemingly only past one o’clock in the morning Eastern time (and thus when most people weren’t watching), this was when CNN host Chris Cuomo admitted that the media elevated and ‘polished the apple’ of certain Democratic candidates. Continuing CNN’s post-Democratic primary debate analysis in the wee hours of Thursday morning, Cuomo looked at his panel and declared: “[former Congressman Beto O’Rourke] had been having his apple polished by the media for some time.”
While MSNBC analysts were peeved by the lack of Trump talk in Wednesday night’s debate, the network’s post-debate panel more than made up for the discrepancy, with much of their discussion centering around the President. In fact during those two hours of special coverage, the panel referred to Donald Trump far more often than they did to any of the Democratic candidates.
NBC's Seth Meyers offered his usual Democratic hack spin on Tuesday night, praising the 2020 Democratic debaters as “sane” and, weirdly, Elizabeth Warren as like a southern matriarch? Though he had some gentle ribbing about the Dems on the stage, he gushed, “And no matter what you think of the Democrats, this is why it was refreshing to see sane human beings speaking in coherent sentences about actual policies on national television for a change.”
The Democratic Primary race for 2020 officially kicked off Wednesday night with the first presidential debate on MSNBC, NBC, and Telemundo. The coterie of lefty late-night hosts immediately began live broadcasting in the aftermath of the debate. Among them was The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah, who made it obvious who he believed won the night.
While MSNBC was raging about the 2020 Democratic candidates not bashing President Trump enough during Wednesday’s debate, the liberal panel on CNN seemed okay with it. “We saw a range of views on stage tonight in Miami at the Democratic debate, except on the subject of President Trump. On that, the candidates were of one voice and they didn't miss a chance to make to clear who their real opponent is,” host Anderson Cooper stated after coming back from a commercial break.
During MSNBC’s post-debate coverage on Wednesday, Saturday Night Politics host Donny Deutsch found himself in rhetorical cage match to the death against Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell after Deutsch opined that Democrat Elizabeth Warren would lose in a landslide to President Trump and that no candidate on night one could currently beat the President.
And the winner of the first half of the first Democratic Party primary debates was...According to most of CNN’s post-debate analysts and commentators, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. Shortly after sharing a highlight reel from the NBC News debate, the CNN analysts began to coalesce around Warren’s performance.
