Jeff Daniels Calls for Political ‘War:' ‘This Is Not a Time To Be Nice' to Trump Voters

While journalists constantly blame President Trump for dividing Americans, the Democrat-controlled media and Hollywood seem to be the ones truly motivated to make Americans hate each other. Far-left actor Jeff Daniels didn’t even try to hide this fact while on The View Friday, as he rallied Democrats to stop “being nice” to the right because they’re at “war."

The actor was there to promote his starring role in the anti-Trump CBS miniseries called The Comey Rule. Produced by Democrat donors, it’s based off of former FBI Director James Comey’s A Higher Loyalty memoir and Daniels painted a glowing portrait of Comey as someone who was “trying to do the right thing.”

Co-host Sara Haines asked if he had any “hesitation” releasing this politically charged miniseries right before the election. This was a silly question to ask considering how outspoken Daniels has been about Trump, even smearing Trump voters as a racist mob. He revealed that not just him, but “many at CBS” wanted Americans to take their Comey fanfiction into account before voting:

“No. I wanted this -- and I think everyone involved including many at Showtime and CBS wanted this to be a part of the national conversation,” he gushed, adding that the miniseries was “aimed” at the politically uninformed “in the middle, if they still exist.”

His hatred for Trump voters came out when talking with Ana Navarro. The co-host and CNN commentator gushed about the “uncanny” actor portrayal of Donald Trump before asking their guest if he cares about getting pushback from Trump fans or the president himself.

Daniels dismissed critics, and rallied the usually “compassionate and generous” Democrats to stop being “nice” to Republicans because they are at war:

Well, there is a possibility that he'll be too busy not preparing for the debate to even watch it. But I -- no, I'm not. You know? This is a time to speak up. People who are not pro-Trump, uh, certainly Democrats, have always been compassionate and generous and try to find the goodness in others and there are Republicans who do too. Not many, but they are out there. But this is not a time to be nice and hope people come around. This is a time to -- this is a political war, and people need to wake up. They need to wake up. If you care about your country, if you care about decency and truth and justice and having a leader who can -- you can trust to do what is right for everyone, then this is a time to get involved, and so, you know, if he responds to the show and all, then it's, you know, it's good for us and the President of the United States should be doing a lot of other things other than tweeting at an actor.

Joy Behar, who along with Ana Navarro started the show mocking Trump as using fear to motivate his base to vote, unironically declared to Daniels, “You know, nothing less than democracy is at stake here! I wonder if people understand the severity of the situation we’re in!”
