The voices of athletes on social issues are greatly welcomed and needed ... as long as they take the liberal position. Athletes taking conservative positions? Not so much. Yet CNN sports writer AJ Willingham and her leftist pals say social justice warriors in sports are too often seen as less than human.
No one is more upset about Trump’s second Supreme Court nomination than the liberal media....unless it's the entertainment elites in Hollywood and Manhattan. These liberals couldn’t see the flagrant hypocrisy surrounding their sentences as they unloaded their fear and loathing of Brett Kavanaugh on television and Twitter.
For those of you worried that Tom Arnold has fallen by the wayside in the wake of his epic meltdown last month during his CNN interview with Poppy Harlow in which he flitted in and out (mostly out) of reality, we bring you good news. Tom is now hot on the trail of the Trump Elevator Tape. The only problem is that tape seems to be even more elusive than the Holy Grail. In fact, it is the Holy Grail, despite nobody knowing its contents, for liberal reporters who have given up hope that Special Counsel Robert Mueller can bring down President Donald Trump.
In Friday night’s installment of bias by omission, NBC Nightly News chose not to cover a deadly suicide bombing in Pakistan at a political rally that left over 120 people dead while this same newscast and the CBS Evening News didn’t fit into their newscasts time for a news brief to pay homage to the now-identified U.S. soldier who died a day earlier in Afghanistan.
Things got frenzied at a House hearing on the federal investigation into possible Russia influence in the Trump campaign, as Republicans lobbed accusations at anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok, who responded by accusing them of playing into Vladimir Putin’s hands, while a Democrat said he deserved a Purple Heart. Strzok’s play of the Russia card worked for the Times, where an editor liked his quote enough to make it the story’s text box: “Another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart.”
Talking heads on MSNBC and CNN got themselves all bent out of shape following President Trump’s appearance at a breakfast kicking off the 2018 NATO Summit. Wednesday’s edition of MSNBC Live With Katy Tur presented no exception. Former TIME magazine editor and Kerry State Department official Richard Stengel complained about President Trump’s “America First” policy, describing it as “toxic nationalism.”
The liberal National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is hosting a five-day convention through the weekend in San Antonio, and the theme is “Defeat Hate — Vote.” That sounds quite ideological, doesn't it? Among the financial sponsors of this political convention are titans of the national media: AT&T (the new owners of CNN), CBS, NBC Universal, ABC's owners at Disney, and Google.
An overseas trip has done nothing to quell the liberal media’s war of words with President Donald Trump, but when Barack Obama went on his first Euro-trip as president, he and First Lady Michelle Obama were lavished with bouquets from the press. The following are just a few examples of over-the-top gushing the Obamas received from the liberal media from their 2009 European trip, as culled from the MRC archives.
On Friday, the network morning shows devoted much of their coverage of President Trump’s visit to Britain on protesters “denouncing and mocking” him. Hosts and correspondents seemed to delight in the president receiving a “not-so-royal welcome” and being taunted by a giant balloon flying over the British capital “depicting Mr. Trump as an angry baby.”
Reporter Penelope Green feted a "cute" new politically mixed couple in nauseating fashion and with a partisan edge in the New York Times. The mischaracterizations started in the subhead: "Margaret Hoover and John Avlon: Lessons of a Post-Partisan Union -- A great-granddaughter of a G.O.P. president and a centrist CNN anchor make peace. Green led off by ludicrously labeling Hoover a “conservative,” which is as inaccurate as the subhead labeling Avlon a CNN “centrist.”
Following the tone set by The Situation Room panel hours earlier Thursday reacting to the congressional hearing with FBI agent Peter Strzok, CNN host Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon blasted Republicans as having conducted a hearing that was a “sham” and “travesty” that did the bidding or Russia and proved “why people want to vote the bums out” (read: Republicans, not Democrats).
Friday, The View’s Hot Topics table, devolved into a shouting match between Republican hosts Meghan McCain and Tara Setmayer. The Never Trump, CNN commentator was a fill-in host for the day, and used the opportunity to air her grievances against Republicans who supported the President as part of a “cult.” McCain took issue with Setmayer’s rhetoric and the two sparred, as some of the liberal hosts chimed in to support Setmayer.
Hollywood is hypocritical on a long list of issues, from gun control to #Metoo, our betters on the Red Carpet love to lecture Americans while they just ignore their sins.
CNN attempted to test the limits of Facebook’s new campaign against fake news by questioning the presence of InfoWars on its site.
On Thursday's CNN Tonight, the show not only repeated the debunked myth that the Trump administration treats illegal immigrant children worse than the Obama administration did, but even one of CNN's right-leaning analysts added to the media myth that legal asylum seekers have their children separated from them without making the distinction that those who enter the country legally typically are not separated. The liberal news network notably ignored DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's trip to Guatemala earlier this week in which she implored asylum seekers to enter the U.S. through legal ports of entry so that they receive better treatment, rather than cross the border illegally.
