CNN media propagandist Brian Stelter kicked off Sunday’s so-called “Reliable Sources” by decrying his colleagues in the liberal media for not being more hostile to President Trump during the “Sharpiegate” snafu. He demanded they stop helping Trump with the language they use and frame it as another episode from an unstable president.
New York Times publishing-industry reporter Alexandra Alter interviewed novelist Margaret Atwood about The Testaments, a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, which has been repurposed as a hit streaming show and a source of feminist memes and protests against the Trump administration. The Times can’t shake the fantasy that the United States has transformed into some dystopian society under President Trump: "Some elements have become even more aligned with current events, with the erosion of reproductive rights, separation of parents from their children at the border and the targeting of minorities by white supremacists."
After a week of President Trump and the media battling over an outdated and edited projection map of Hurricane Dorian, which had been dubbed “Sharpiegate”, National Review editor Rich Lowry humorously ripped that media on Sunday for their obsession with the story by suggesting they’re like conspiracy theorists “analyzing this with the detail of the Zapruder tape”.
Continued good news on unemployment bored the networks on Friday night. As usual, they didn't note the apparent irony that they consider President Trump to be "racist" (or at least issue "racist tweets"), and yet the Labor Department reported black unemployment hit 5.5 percent, well below the previous all-time low of 5.9 percent (and it was never below 7.0 percent pre-Trump). The jobless rate for black women was 4.4 prevent, and the previous low was 4.7 percent. If Obama were still president, the major media would hone in on his good works for blacks. But AP and The New York Times skipped that data point.
Black unemployment reached a record low of 5.5 percent in the month of August. While CNN Tonight host Don Lemon and his panel acknowledged the statistic Friday night, they did their best to downplay it and rejected the notion that President Trump deserved any credit for the strong economy. In addition, Lemon argued that when black voters go to the polls in 2020, they should prioritize the President’s “racist behavior” over the strong economy.
The lead National slot in Saturday’s New York Times was occupied by “Andrew Yang and the Passionate 2.6 Percent Lifting Him.” Reporter Matt Stevens hailed the low-polling 2020 Democrat’s plan to give $1000 a month to every American. A weirdly affectionate tone toward Yang pervaded Stevens’ piece, putting in mind his fulsome over the re-emergence of Texas politician Wendy Davis (aka “Abortion Barbie”) in July.
Stephen Colbert sat down with British talk show host Graham Norton during Thursday’s edition of The Late Show. Not surprisingly, the two teamed up to trash the leaders of their respective countries: President Trump and Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Norton’s commentary definitely indicated that the infiltration of left-wing politics into comedy shows is not unique to the United States.
This summer, President Donald Trump has awarded two former NBA greats — Bob Cousy of Celtics' fame and Jerry West of Lakers' fame — the Medal of Freedom. Cousy received his award a couple months back, and West was honored Thursday. Trump did not make the awards without reaping derision from the New York Times, which notes that both men are white and President Trump seems to have issues with current African American NBA players. The Times' writers Michael Crowley and Kevin Draper caught heat from Powerline blogger Paul Mirengoff for their inconsistencies, too.
Forget the Democrats.The real opponent of President Donald Trump’s re-election has already taken the field. It isn’t Joe or Bernie or Liz or Kamala or any of the rest. The real Trump opponent in 2020 is …the mainstream media. In fact, the “Hate Trump Media” as Sean Hannity correctly labels it, or the Leftist State Media as I call it, never left the field after the 2016 election.
In Saturday's Washington Post, pop music critic Chris Richards penned an essay throbbing with dissatisfaction that today's protest music is inadequate for the Trump era. He began: "These are wild and anxious times for our wild and anxious planet. So why do the most visible protest songs of the Trump era feel so inert?... contemporary protest pop feels increasingly prominent, deeply unimaginative and embarrassingly insufficient."

Last year, co-host Savannah Guthrie scored an exclusive interview with Sotomayor Not specifically mentioning Donald Trump, she hinted, “Do you feel like our legal system, our constitutional system, separation of power, checks and balances, are those things under pressure today like they haven’t been in the past?”
One of the Left’s favorite phrases jumps to mind regarding Hollywood’s take on conservatives. The term “othering” means treating people as somehow different, and inferior, to you or the group you belong to. Here’s a quick example: When then-candidate Donald Trump used the word “the” before Latinos and African-Americans during the 2016 campaign the Left claimed he was “othering” them for political gain.

ABC could only devote 14 SECONDS to the latest unemployment news on Friday night. CBS and NBC skipped it entirely. All three networks reported the latest on actress Felicity Huffman's fate in the college-admissions scandal. ABC actually gave that 18 seconds in the promo at the top of the show (and then a two-minute report).
The Hollywood Left isn’t a fraction as tolerant of differing opinions as it likes to pretend. They can’t stand conservatives, and they especially can’t stand public supporters of President Trump. The latest example began when The Hollywood Reporter declared that President Trump would appear at a Beverly Hills re-election fundraiser on September 17. The stars of NBC’s rebooted gay-agitprop sitcom Will & Grace announced a new blacklist. It didn't go well for them.
