CBS’s Madam Secretary has finally come to an end. Much like the impeachment hearings, this show has been obnoxiously partisan and has lasted way too long. Predictably, its series finale is the same with one last terrible call for “equality.” The December 8 finale “Leaving the Station” sees President Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) officially signing the Equal Pay and Family Leave Act.
Showtime’s December 8 premiere of Work In Progress, titled “180 Almonds,” is the latest dark comedy from Abby McEnany, who plays Abby, a self-described “fat... queer dyke who has done shit in her life." How dark of a comedy is it? The opening quickly segues from Abby talking on the phone to someone with a "wazzup" greeting to telling her therapist she plans to kill herself in 180 days; a therapist who ends up dying, mid-session in her chair.
On Sunday, December 8, Showtime premiered The L Word: Generation Q a reboot of last decade’s lesbian series The L Word. The latter series included an "unauthorized abortion of W" sculpture so one could only imagine what the reboot was going to do.
Sometimes the host of a beauty pageant can provide as much entertainment as the contestants. Even a perfectly timed eye roll can leave a mark.
On Friday, CNN anchors Brooke Baldwin and Anderson Cooper both celebrated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snapping at Sinclair reporter James Rosen as both hosts brought on Speaker Pelosi's daughter, Christine Pelosi, as a guest to gloat about her mother's success in impressing liberals with her antagonistic behavior toward conservatives. Because who better than someone's daughter to provide a balanced look? At one point, Baldwin gushed, "Is this classic Nancy Pelosi? Is this the mom you've always known?"
That's the way to sum up the Daily Beast description of wealthy Democrat candidate for president, Tom Steyer. The purpose of their Saturday article by David De La Fuente was to shame the Democrats into including "candidates of color' at their next presidential debate but a big take away from the story was that it basically described Steyer as a scam artist.
Sunday night Showtime is resurrecting its lesbian-centered dramady, The L Word (now with Generation Q added to the title). A 2007 episode of the series featured a particularly outrageous bit of far-left hate, a sculpture, the “Unauthorized Abortion of W,” which was a life-size cut out of Barbara Bush with a vacuum cleaner between her legs in position to suck out an image of then-President George W. Bush’s face.
In the aftermath of the mass shooting at the naval base in Pensacola, Florida, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle invited on gun control activist Fred Guttenberg as a guest to complain about Republicans refusing to pass Democratic-supported gun control, It was the second time in less than two weeks that she has had the liberal activist on her show to discuss the issue.
Sparks flew and a temper flared during a heated argument between NBC political director Chuck Todd and Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Sunday’s Meet the Press. The former raged as the latter dismantled the combined narrative of congressional Democrats and the liberal media when it came to impeachment, media bias, and Ukraine. Here are the highlights.
You can be sure, if Republicans were holding an impeachment trial of a Democratic president, during an election year, the liberal media would be demanding every GOP senator running against the president recuse themselves from the proceedings. But with five Democratic senators still in the 2020 race, the conflict of interest was almost never mentioned. ABC came close on Sunday, but chief anchor George Stephanopoulos argued that the trial would be a time for them to shine.
The nation's leading newspapers have asserted their role as the most important "independent fact-checkers" in politics. So why do they fail to fact-check their own interviewees? On Twitter, Jeryl Bier noted The New York Times had to add an embarrassing correction to a two-month old story on Friday. Reporter Trip Gabriel did an entire story on a Trump voter iin Erie, Pennsylvania changing his mind....except records showed the man never voted for Trump. He never voted in 2016.
Ever since the surprise referendum result in June 2016, the New York Times and rest of the mainstream press has been virulently anti-Brexit. That has translated into hostile coverage of Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has called an election to strengthen his position as he attempts to make Brexit a reality. The New York Times is clearly stretching to attack Johnson with any weapon to hand, including actor Hugh Grant.
The Democrats in Congress are rolling ahead to vote on articles of impeachment against President Trump, but it's hard to ignore that the nation’s economy is roaring to the best numbers seen since 1969, according to the November jobs report released on Friday. CNBC host Jim Cramer responded to the good news by admitting that liberal “people don’t want to say good things” even though the new Labor Department document contains “the best number I’ve ever seen in my life!”
Supposedly right-leaning New York Times columnist David Brooks paid unctuous tribute on NPR and PBS Friday night to Nancy Pelosi's slashing attack on Sinclair reporter James Rosen. It was "one of the more beautiful political moments of the year." Somehow, when liberals attack reporters, they qualify as a "pro" and a "craftsman," just "very impressive."
On Tuesday's The Last Word, far-left MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell seized on President Donald Trump apparently misunderstanding a question from a reporter about whether the U.S. government supports Iranian protesters so that the MSNBC host could portray the President as "ignorant" and as mentally disturbed. Before bringing on a Harvard psychiatrist to agree with him that President Trump is mentally ill, O'Donnell gave a longwinded explanation of how un-intelligent or "deranged" he thinks the President is.
