In an NBC Today Show interview and with a supportive report by Newsweek magazine, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver earlier this week boasted of the league's progressive activism. Silver expressed support for gender quotas and Black Lives Matter and directed negatives toward President Donald Trump's policies. Today Show host Craig Melvin interviewed Silver and Benjamin Fearnow wrote about it on Newsweek's website.
MSNBC’s The Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell ganged up with Vox editor Ezra Klein Thursday night to discuss recent developments in the on-going showdown between President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. O’Donnell opened the topic by sardonically stating; “One of the developments today was the President taking time to publicly proclaim he’s not the crazy one.” Taking the ever favored side of Crazy Nancy, O’Donnell and Klein laughed over Trump’s defending himself with Klein quipping, “so things are going great in American democracy I guess.”
True to form, the most far left Spanish-language television network in the country, Estrella TV,
provided totally one-sided coverage of public sentiment on the bevy of new state laws restricting abortion.
In a desperate attempt to revive her relevancy following the cancelation of her E! late-night show, actress Busy Phillips joins the Hollywood bandwagon to protest recent pro-life bills. According to an announcement by the ACLU, Phillips and the ACLU have teamed up “to fight against the passage of restrictive abortion bans in states around the country.” This comes two weeks after Phillips used her own abortion story to condemn the Georgia “heartbeat” law.
Inside Politics host John King “didn’t have the words” to describe how Trump defended himself after Speaker Nancy Pelosi questioned the President’s mental state and suggested that he needed an intervention the day before in a press conference.
Breaking news…Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, has apparently run out of original material; as he has compared President Trump to a dictator yet again. The only thing that has gotten more tiring is the Comedy Central host’s repeated attacks on the Catholic Church and Christianity as a whole.
Washington Post media blogger Erik Wemple tried to comb through the wreckage of Michael Avenatti, liberal cable news sensation-turned-potential crook, and asked CNN and MSNBC for comment. Brian Stelter acknowledged he was wrong to take Avenatti seriously as a presidential contender: "I own that comment." Rachel Maddow defended her "coverage" of the sleazy lawyer despite the fact that "Avenatti turns out to have been a shrieking bag of cats when it came to his business practices,"
Every year, Memorial Day reminds us of the strength and honor of the men and women who lost their lives in battle. That attitude clearly influenced Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis’ thoughts as he vowed earlier this week to never let the American flag come down under his watch amid his current legal battle.
Actor Bryan Cranston joined Friday’s CBS This Morning to promote his leading role as the Howard Beale in the legendary movie-turned-play Network and offered some astute, unbiased observations about the need to take in a variety of news sources, recognizing that news producers make judgment calls (often using their own biases) on “what’s news,” and the industry’s commercialization.
You have heard it time and time again from the left: “Republicans have thrown away their principles to worship Trump.” The truth is that politician worship has a home on each side of the political aisle, and there is no group of people who worship Democratic politicians more than the “firefighters of the truth” in the mainstream media.
Cable news hosts spent Friday morning running damage control for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after the President tweeted a video mashup of her verbally stumbling at a press conference. Curiously, CNN and MSNBC parroted the language used by Pelosi’s own office in their efforts to discredit the video: “doctored.”
Do as I say, not as I do. The censorious ideas pushed by popular Twitter #Resistance twins have come back to bite them. Activists Ed and Brian Krassenstein were permanently suspended from Twitter May 23. The Daily Beast reported the liberal Twitter stars had allegedly been banned for “[breaking] the site’s rules about operating fake accounts and purchasing fake interactions with their accounts.”
Acting chops aside, Anne Hathaway has always looked like the type of person whose superpowers include the ability to give one heck of a condescending lecture. As it turns out, the white woman is chiding other “white women” for fighting for the lives of unborn children of any color. On social media, the Ocean's 8 actress slammed the “complicity of white women” in producing the recent pro-life Alabama legislation signed by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.
Even CNBC's more liberal anchor wasn't thrilled with newly announced plans from Democratic candidates to tax Wall Street transactions. Reporter Ylan Mui told Squawk Box viewers on May 23 about plans from liberal candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Pete Buttigieg (D-IN) to tax Wall Street to pay for expensive things like "free" college.
On Friday, NBC’s Today show aired an exclusive interview with Khaled Al-Batsh, one of the leaders of the Palestinian terrorist organization Islamic Jihad. During that exchange, Al-Batsh was provided with a media megaphone to smear President Trump as a “thug” and denounce the “Israeli occupation” of the Gaza Strip.
