On Monday, The Daily Beast published an article with the title “Melania Trump’s Joyless Christmas Decorations Are Back to Haunt Your Nightmares.” The author of the piece, Daily Beast style writer Alaina Demopoulos, went so far as to call the White House Christmas display “state-sponsored jingoism.” While the opening sentence of the article gives the impression that “Melania Trump tried this Christmas,” it did not take long for Demopoulos to begin trashing the First Lady’s White House Christmas displays in both the past and present.
The television networks have been intensely critical for three and a half years now of Donald Trump’s alleged destruction of journalistic norms. How have they covered and/or condemned Bloomberg’s destruction of journalistic norms? Most of them haven’t even mentioned it, let alone condemned it. Since Bloomberg threw his hat into the ring on Sunday, November 24, ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS have all failed to utter a single word – positive or negative or neutral – on their major morning or evening or Sunday interview shows on the Bloomberg News policy.
On Monday's New Day on CNN, as fill-in co-host Jim Sciutto and CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin discussed the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to take up a gun case originating in New York, the two fretted that the right-leaning Court might end up barring many gun control proposals that are popular with liberals like more restrictive background checks.
Trans woman Jessica Yaniv’s vendetta against biology rolls on this week as the indignant biological male turns her sights from suing migrant spa workers who refused to wax her male genitals to calling out the legality of Canadian gynecologists' refusal to examine her penis. Don’t they know she identifies as a woman?
At the announcement that the media and Hollywood’s favorite candidate Kamala Harris had told her staff she was dropping out of the 2020 presidential race Tuesday, many cable news analysts expressed dismay. Yet MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle found a glimmer of hope in the whole situation: Now the former California attorney general would be free to prosecute President Trump!
The Washington Post has become the Mean Girls of the nation’s capital, going after First Lady Melania Trump’s Christmas fashion sense, calling it “ridiculous” and indicative of “aloofness.” Gosh, why would anybody want to be aloof from the bitchy high schoolers at The Post?
The journalists at Good Morning America on Tuesday again sold out the news department in order to shill for Disney and the whims of CEO Bob Iger. The morning show devoted almost five minutes to promoting a glossy new book singing the praises of the corporate behemoth. Dismissing her own program as nothing more than a product no different then co-division Marvel, co-host Robin Roberts cheered, “It is called One Day at Disney and it celebrates the people and the culture that makes all this happen from Walt Disney world to Marvel to GMA.”
Even after persistent attacks by liberal critics, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg doubled down on defending one of America’s most iconic values -- free speech. Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan appeared in a “CBS This Morning” interview which aired this past Monday. During the interview, and in the face of media pressure, the couple defended Facebook’s recent policy changes in favor of free speech.
On Tuesday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough launched into a bitter anti-Trump screed demanding that House Democrats expand the impeachment inquiry in order to “show the American people the full breadth and the full scope of Donald Trump’s corruption” and expose the supposed “lawlessness” of the administration.
Good news is always welcome, especially when our own pockets are concerned. However, a recent Telemundo report about remittances from the United States to Mexico went overboard in plugging a Spanish bank with a subsidiary in Mexico.
We all know the saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” And when it comes to the left’s virtue signaling with “tolerance,” we also know well that their tolerance only extends to those who agree with their politics and policies. That couldn’t have been more clear on Monday night’s episode of The CW’s teen drama All American, which featured a song that preached tolerance for gays being “who they are” while subtly showing disdain for God and the Bible.
On this Tuesday's New Day, after co-host Alisyn Camerota melodramatically wondered why ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page didn't speak out before, given "what she has lived with" due to President Trump's comments about her, CNN commentator Asha Rangappa, a former FBI agent, responded: "It goes to how civil servants . . . really have a culture of being apolitical, of not trying to get into partisan fights or in the crosshairs. It's not in their DNA."
A political reporter for the liberal Newsweek magazine has been dismissed after producing an inaccurate article regarding President Trump’s activities on Thanksgiving Day, claiming that the GOP occupant of the White House intended to spend the holiday just “tweeting and golfing.” The item was posted before the President traveled to Afghanistan to visit the U.S. soldiers stationed there, and it was a serious blow to Jessica Kwong, whose Twitter screen name identifies her as covering the “Trump administration and family,” as well as the 2020 presidential contest.
If the left’s ongoing conniptions on climate change haven’t proven hysterical enough, former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry decided to launch a bipartisan “World War Zero” coalition on climate change. Some of the big names headlining “World War Zero” are former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, former moderate Republican governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Kasich, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sting and Ashton Kutcher.
During the final segment of Saturday’s edition of AM Joy, host Joy Reid interviewed Brenda Wineapple, author of the book The Impeachers: The Trial of Andrew Johnson and the Dream of a Just Nation. Reid prefaced the interview by comparing President Trump to the notoriously racist President Johnson, whom she described as “another presidential villain.” The MSNBC host repeatedly doubled down on that comparison in addition to advancing the myth that the two major political parties “reversed” in the time between the Civil War and the present day.
