Fox’s ‘Scream Queens’ Explains Political Correctness in Two Quick and Easy Scenes

The irony of a show based on sex appeal, damsels in distress, and sorority girls as the showcase for something called the “New, New Feminism” is beyond rich.

But after watching an entire season of the bizarre collegiate horror series, that kind of irony is par for the course. Though, Tuesday night’s season finale dealt with more than just feminism.

While explaining the rules to new sorority prospects, Dean Munsch explains political correctness, pretty much perfectly:

Zayday: Welcome to this very special rush evening of the new and improved Kappa Kappa Tau. I'm Zayday Williams, president, and this is my vice president, Grace Gardner.

Grace: We would also like to thank Dean Munsch for allowing us to have a winter semester rush this year.

Dean Munsch: Well, now that the unfortunate events of the fall semester are behind us and the school is back open and extremely safe, I thought, why not? Especially since the new Kappa seems to be aligned so clearly with mine and the rest of the student body's almost militant commitment to political correctness and acceptance of different and unusual points of view. As long as they're always left-leaning. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go disinvite Jerry Seinfeld from speaking at commencement. He told a joke about a woman once. Allegedly.

Poor Jerry. He used to be loved by the left. Of course, I jest. He still is, and I’m sure that shot from Dean Munsch was fired with tongue firmly planted in cheek. However, the first part where she declares militant political correctness and tolerance, as long as they conform to her worldview, sums up the current state of American campus life quite nicely.

But alas, we move on!

Dean Munsch also decided to re-define feminism in this season. Even wrote a book about it, called the “New New Feminism.” Which she explains to her throng of book buyers:

Dean Munsch: As for me, I wrote up a quick book and became a media sensation. I was on the cover of Time, Newsweek and Men's Health. Well, I didn't write it. I had a ghostwriter do it. Okay, well, there you go.

Admirer: Dean Munsch, your book is an absolute revelation. Is there any way you could sum up your philosophy on new new feminism in just a few words?

Dean Munsch: Um... If feminism was about demanding equal treatment for women, and new feminism was saying that men and women are integral complements to one another, then I guess we could sum up, uh, new new feminism really in three simple words: Women are better. I mean, the proof-- it's right in front of us. If you think about all of human history, add up the wars and the genocide, all the oppression, the violence, the exploitation, the degradation of the human spirit, what do all those things have in common? Dudes. They have dudes in common, right? Yeah. So maybe, just maybe, it's not just places like Wallace University that are better off with a woman in charge. Maybe we'd be better off if a woman was charge...

So, the secret to worldly happiness is the elimination of men from any leadership position. Because genocide, war, and oppression. Which is funny, since liberals ascribe all three of those maladies to colonialism, an institution which survived and thrived under Queens Elizabeth and Victoria in England.

Nor, were those female rulers averse to infighting against other females. Such as Mary Queen of Scots, who was eventually executed by Elizabeth after she tried to kill and overthrow Elizabeth multiple times. Not to mention the reign of “Bloody Mary,” who preceded Elizabeth and brutally repressed the Protestant population of England.

But hey, history is hard.
