Freeform's 'The Bold Type' Hails Stripper as 'Feminist Icon'

For the liberals at Freeform, female empowerment means one-night stands, watching porn, and stripping. Tuesday’s episode of the teen drama The Bold Type described stripping as “true empowerment” and praised a particular stripper as a “feminist icon.”

In the episode, “No Feminism in the Champagne Room,” Jane (Katie Stevens) writes an article on Morgyn Stanley, who left Wall Street for the strip club because apparently stripping is more “empowering.” In her article, Jane describes the woman who takes off her clothes for money as “strong, sensual, powerful,” and “free.”

Jane- I don't know what I did to make Morgyn so mad at me.

Alex- Well, you're gonna make yourself crazy trying to figure it out.

Jane- I mean, look, "Strong, sensual, powerful," these are the adjectives describing the Wall Street banker in front of me. "But as I continue watching, another adjective buries them all: Free."

Alex- It's beautiful.

Jane- And inspiring.

Alex- Stop worrying about what she thought. Jacqueline loved it, right?

Jane- Yeah.

Jacqueline- Jane! A moment, please?

As a result of the article, Morgyn sues Jane and the magazine outlet, Scarlet, for revealing her identity. Jane doesn’t understand, as she painted Morgyn as a “feminist hero.” According to Jane, “Giving up a six-figure salary on Wall Street and finding true empowerment as a stripper - that's inspiring.”

At the settlement meeting, Morgyn rebukes Jane and insults her writing. In a fit of anger, Jane has the audacity to call Morgyn the stripper…”a stripper.” Morgyn refuses to settle, bursts out of the meeting, and Jane’s legal counsel and boss scold her for daring to call Morgyn what she actually is. At the end of the episode, Jane ventures to the strip club to apologize to Morgyn for judging her. She explains how Morgyn is an “incredible feminist” and as a result, Morgyn again agrees to settle.

Stripping is all the rage now with liberal TV, as last week’s episode of The Carmichael Show also tried to remove the stigma from stripping. I guess accepting stripping is going to join the list of issues liberals plan to beat us over the head with on TV.
