Clinton Foundation Takes $25.5M from Countries that Kill, Imprison Gays

After the terrorist attack at an Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning, Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton claimed she was an ally to the LGBT community. But donations to the Clinton Foundation show the Clintons are willing to overlook LGBT abuse when there’s money on the line.

“We will keep fighting for [the LGBT community’s] right to live freely, openly and without fear,” Clinton said on Facebook June 12, 2016.

However, The Clinton Foundation accepted at least  $25.5 million from eight nations that imprison and murder homosexuals.

The most incriminating donor, Saudi Arabia, was one of only 17 donors who gave The Clinton Foundation between $10 million and $25 million. In Saudi Arabia, the penalty for homosexual behavior is anywhere from 100 lashes and year of banishment, to death by stoning, according to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association’s report on State Sponsored Homophobia.

On Facebook, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called Clinton out for her double standard.

Since The Clinton Foundation does not report exact donation amounts, Trump cited the highest donation possible from Saudi Arabia, given the donation range reported on The Clinton Foundation’s website.

Other nations who have funded The Clinton Foundation also have strict punishments against homosexuals. The United Arab Emirates, which gave $1-$5 million to The Clinton Foundation, punishes homosexuality with up to 14 years in prison. Brunei, a tiny nation which shares an island with Malaysia, fines and imprisons homosexuals for up to 10 years.

Governments of three additional countries, Morocco, Oman, and Algeria, have also funded The Clinton Foundation. All three punish homosexuality with six months to three years in prison.
