Scott Pelley and the CBS This Morning crew, on July 25, 2016, made the sales pitch for Hillary Clinton’s Tim Kaine VP selection. The CBS Evening News anchor, invited on to recap his 60 Minutes interview with the Democratic ticket, proclaimed of the pair “they look terrific” and “they were finishing each other’s sentences.”

Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), on ABC’s This Week, identified long-time segregationist George Wallace, the Democratic governor of Alabama and twice a Democratic candidate for president, as a Republican: “We do have the worst Republican nominee since George Wallace.”

Wallace was never a Republican and never won the nomination of either major party, though he was the candidate in 1968 of the American Independent Party. He ran in the Democratic presidential primaries in both 1972 and 1976.

With what seemed like the plot of the next James Bond film, or perhaps Austin Powers, CNN Political Commentator Sally Kohn accused Russian hackers of trying to sink Hillary Clinton’s campaign by leaking DNC documents. “One of the more unexplored parts of this story is that these leaks were done by Russian hackers,” Kohn noted on New Day Sunday, “And the fact that these leaks, if anything, help— seem intended maybe to help Donald Trump.
