The Big Three broadcast network evening newscasts all touched on the revelation that Secretary of Defense Ash Carter used private e-mails for government business and this well after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came under fire for exclusively conducting her official email correspondence that way. That said, only CBS's Evening News downplayed the significance of the story by omitting any Republican criticisms or soundbites.

Covering President Obama’s Sunday night address on Monday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Norah O’Donnell turned to White House correspondent Major Garrett for “new insight on why the President spoke last night.” After briefly noting “lukewarm” reviews of the speech, Garrett proceeded to parrot administration talking points excusing the President’s poor performance. ABC’s Good Morning America labeled the President’s speech as “rare” and “historic.”

Wednesday night’s Republican presidential debate didn’t suffer because of liberal media bias. It was simply too short and there were too many candidates. That’s the spin the journalists on ABC’s Good Morning America came up with, Thursday. Matthew Dowd asserted, “I think fundamentally the problem is there's too many candidates on the stage....Too many candidates on the stage is too much.” Reporter Jon Karl reminded, “Don't forget, it was Donald Trump and Ben Carson who insisted this only be two hours."

On Friday, all three broadcast networks read from the same liberal script as hosts and correspondents predicted doom for the Republican Party following Kevin McCarthy’s withdrawal from the race for Speaker of the House. Leading off NBC’s Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie breathlessly proclaimed: “Congress in chaos. House Republicans racing to find a new speaker this morning. Bitterly divided Republicans now scrambling for a replacement.”
