Shortly after former Texas Governor Rick Perry announced his bid for the Republican nomination yesterday, less-than-objective MSNBC sought out the author of an anti-Perry, anti-Texas book to discuss the highlights of the Texas hopeful’s speech. MSNBC Live host Thomas Roberts and James Moore, an analyst for the network and author of Adios Mofo: Why Rick Perry Will Make America Miss George W Bush, seem to agree 2015's newest presidential candidate is mired in “big negatives.”

It’s becoming clearer every day that the liberal hosts at MSNBC have no interest in giving conservatives a fair shake on their network. Time and time again, MSNBC hosts such as Thomas Roberts proudly slander Republicans of engaging in hateful acts such as a “war on women” or a “war on voting.”
With such hostility towards conservatives at the network, it makes you wonder sometimes why any conservative would want to come on and be verbally accosted by the liberal activists disguised as journalists, such as Thomas Roberts, who did his best to put Orlando Watson through the ringer.

When the subject of race comes up, MSNBC has an odd habit of bringing on highly controversial guests with a history of racially insensitive comments to discuss race in America. Take for example the recent controversy surrounding chef Paula Deen whose contract with the Food Network was not renewed following revelations during a legal deposition that she had used the N-word in private conversation.
What better person for MSNBC to bring on to discuss Ms. Deen than its own N-word throwing host, who in August of 2012 chose to use the racial epithet on his show “The Cycle.” Appearing with fellow MSNBC host Thomas Roberts on June 25, Toure slammed Ms. Deen for what he called, “a representative now of an ideology that we thought was dead that we hoped was dead that some of us feared still existed in some people." On the Thursday edition of MSNBC Live, Thomas Roberts reported that, in the wake all the controversy surrounding ObamaCare and its provision to expand Medicaid, MSNBC would be sponsoring a free health clinic in New Orleans to provide screenings and other medical services. He then brought Nicole Lamoureux, the executive director of the National Associations of Free Clinics, to have a platform to promote ObamaCare's costly expansion of Medicaid. Roberts asked Lamoureux tell him “how the lack of Medicaid expansion is going to impact the residents of Louisiana,” to which she bluntly replied that unless Medicaid is expanded “people are just going to die.” Not only is that an incredibly dire, doomsday-scenario statement, but it is also simply her opinion on the issue. In the interview, she presented no statistics to back up her claim. In fact, there is quite of evidence to the contrary of her statement.

In what has become a daily theme, once again, MSNBC is pushing a one-sided discussion on gun control. Speaking on Monday, January 28 with Dan Gross, the President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), host Thomas Roberts continued to lobby for congressional action for strict gun control. Naturally, Roberts failed to bring on a pro-gun rights advocate nor to feature one in a subsequent segment.
Roberts began the segment by hyping a New York Times article describing:
Some gun groups were seeking to, quote, introduce children to high powered rifles and handguns while invoking the same rationale of those older, more traditional programs that firearms can teach life skills like responsibility, ethics, and citizenship.

Leave it to MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts to attempt to smear the pro-life movement on the day of the March for Life with a misleading story about a law introduced in New Mexico regarding abortion. Roberts erroneously reported on a New Mexico state legislator named Cathrynn Brown, who, “introduced a bill that would force rape victims to carry their babies to term and their babies would be used as evidence during a court trial… Under the bill, a rape victim who had an abortion would be thrown in jail for tampering with evidence.”
Roberts brought on Pat Davis, the Executive Director of Progress Now in New Mexico to bash the bill, which, by the way, Roberts completely mischaracterized. What the bill actually would do is make it a crime for a rapist to pressure his victim into undergoing an abortion. [See video after jump. MP3 audio here.]

Only at MSNBC would you see a segment entitled “by the numbers” that left out the most important figure: the price tag to the American taxpayer. Such was the case on Monday morning, with MSNBC Live host Thomas Roberts gushing over the different activities the President Obama and his family participated in during their Christmas vacation in Hawaii.
The “numbers” Roberts referred to was not the cost of the trip, but rather the number of times Obama and his family enjoyed time on the golf course or swimming [See video after jump. MP3 audio here.]:

Not only did MSNBC's Thomas Roberts jump on top of yesterday's deadly Oregon mall shooting to push gun control, he presented his softball interview with gun advocate Dan Gross of the Brady Campaign as a "debate." That's right, the segment's title, given in an onscreen graphic was "Gun Control Debate." Of course, Roberts failed to bring on a gun-rights advocate to balance out Gross's appearance, meaning the audience didn't witness an actual debate.
Spokesmen for the Brady Campaign appear regularly on MSNBC, as they share the same gun-control stance of the network's anchors. Coupled with friendly interviewers like Roberts, they get a platform devoid of any hard questions or valid counterpoints. [See video below page break. MP3 audio here.]
