CBS, NBC Promote ObamaCare Regulation on Publicly Displaying Calorie Counts

During their Tuesday evening newscasts, CBS and NBC squeezed in a few moments each to promote the newest health-related regulation set to affect Americans under ObamaCare next year in the form of additional requirements regarding the listing of calories for food and drinks at public eating establishments, vending machines, and movie theaters.

Both networks pointed out that the move was announced and will be overseen by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but failed to present any opposition to these changes with NBC neglecting to even mention that the regulations derived from the President’s health care law.

Left-Wing Salon Writer Blames Romney for Deadly Meningitis Outbreak

The left has gone from criticizing Mitt Romney on his views of FEMA to blaming him for a meningitis outbreak. Salon.writer Craig Unger pinned the recent spike in meningitis, which resulted in the deaths of 29 people, on Mitt Romney, in an article entitled “Romney’s lax regulation may have fueled meningitis outbreak.”

Unger cited the attorney representing the victims of the outbreak, who blamed the meningitis on poor regulations against pharmaceutical companies while Romney was governor or Massachusetts in 2004. However, the regulation of such companies was not overseen directly by Romney.
