While the liberal media are hard at work spinning recent statements by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) as some sort of indication of anti-vaxxer hysteria on the right side of the country's political spectrum, the Daily Beast, of all websites, is reminding folks that it is Hollywood liberals who have fanned the flames of paranoia on the matter.

Only days before USA Today reported that the recent measles outbreak had reached a "critical point," The Washington Post declared that opponents of vaccination were "ruining things for everyone."
Following the recent outbreak of measles at Disneyland, Jason Millman, a reporter for The Washington Post's Wonkblog, called out "the anti-vaccination movement" in a January 22 post, describing them as "over-privileged group of rich people" who "overwhelmingly" voted for Obama. Millman repeated the observation "that you only had to go visit a Whole Foods to find anti-vaxxers."

The women of The View are sick and tired of people using Bill Clinton’s mistresses to get in the way of Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions. At the top of Tuesday’s show Whoopi Goldberg introduced the topic: “You know, there’s a new book called The First Family Details: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of Presidents. And it claims that Bill Clinton has a mistress that visits the house so often that when Hillary is out of town, they see her and they have nicknamed her The Energizer.”
Guest host and former CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin led the charge against the rumors as she huffed: “You know I’m so tired of hearing about Bill Clinton’s sort of extracurricular activities. Because the bottom line is this is to shame Hillary. Right?” Sherri Shepherd didn’t care either: “I always see former President William F. Clinton, he always seems to be so in love with his wife.” As for Jenny McCarthy and guest host and star of American Pie Jason Biggs? After completing her first successful season as host of the Amazing America series on the cable TV Sportsman Channel -- and being renewed for a second run of 12 episodes -- is former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin also interested in joining the depleted ranks of panelists on ABC's The View?
Judging from an email interview with Marisa Guthrie of The Hollywood Reporter, Palin has already given some serious thought regarding how to revitalize the weekday morning series: give it “a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland.”

A Quinnipiac poll that listed Barack Obama as the worst president since World War II had the ladies of ABC’s The View quite upset. On Monday’s show Jenny McCarthy defended Obama’s terrible ranking by asking “isn’t the sitting president always considered the worst president?” She then griped that Obama has had to deal with the “worst Congress ever.”
Sherri Shepherd spoke up for all the “happy” people on ObamaCare and guest-host Ana Ortiz played the race card as the Devious Maids actress complained: “It’s 1400 people and 73 percent of those people were white. I have never been asked a poll question ever.” (video after the jump)

The women of The View are sick and tired of people picking on Hillary Clinton. On Thursday’s episode the entire cast of Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd and guest host Roseanne Barr all took turns defending the former First Lady from Monica Lewinsky, Rand Paul and Vladimir Putin.
Whoopi Goldberg, setting up the segment, noted Clinton was asked about Lewinsky in her People magazine interview and then complained that Clinton can’t get away from the Lewinsky questions: (video after the jump)

You know left-wing propaganda has gotten out of hand when even “The Daily Show” calls it out. In a video segment June 2, correspondent Samantha Bee went on a quest to find out who is causing the outbreak of infectious diseases such as measles in the U.S. She initially assumed the outbreaks were caused by “right-wing nutjobs,” opening the segment by saying, “Conservatives are fighting the good fight against something they think threatens us all. Science. This right-wing science denial has tragic real-world consequences.”
But then Bee realized the cases were being found in far-left states like California, New York and Oregon. “Because of these right-wing nutjobs outbreaks of preventable diseases are occurring in the red states of California, New York, and Oregon, wait, what the f*** is going on here?!”

Despite the rise in deaths from preventable childhood diseases, the networks spent the last 15 years fueling speculation that vaccines cause autism. Just in the past seven years more than 1,300 died from such diseases, according to CDC data.
The medical community widely refuted such claims and the medical journal that once published the study later retracted it. But for years the broadcast networks continued to report on the alleged connection between vaccines and autism.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly appeared on ABC’s The View on Wednesday April 16 and had some harsh words for incoming CBS late night host Stephen Colbert.
O’Reilly began his analysis by arguing that Colbert is “More than a comedian. He’s a mouthpiece for the far left.” to which co-host Barbara Walters rushed to Colbert’s defense and argued that “I mean he’s just a comedian. Isn’t that going a little far Bill? The rest of The View cast, including Jenny McCarthy jumped in and wondered if “conservatives will give him a chance?” [See video below.]

View co-host Jenny McCarthy is now attempting to backtrack on her anti-vaccine conspiracy theories. The former Playboy model has repeatedly promoted the danger of vaccines and asserted, despite a total lack of evidence, that they can cause autism. In an op-ed for the Chicago Sun Times on Sunday, she proclaimed, "I am not 'anti-vaccine.' This is not a change in my stance nor is it a new position that I have recently adopted."
However, in 2009, she claimed of her own son's condition: "Without a doubt in my mind, I believe that vaccinations triggered Evan's autism." She is also on record as saying, "So, you ask any mother in the autism community if we'll take the flu, the measles over autism any frickin' day of the week -- So, I think they [pro-vaccine doctors] need to wake up and stop hurting our kids." As noted by the National Geographic in 2013, "In April, researchers published a study that looked at nearly 1,000 children and concluded that exposure to vaccines during the first two years of life was not associated with an increased risk of developing autism."

Sitting in a doctor’s office today, I found the October 14-20 issue of TV Guide with an interview with Jenny McCarthy, now a co-host on ABC’s “The View.”
McCarthy can’t possibly be grateful enough to that ABC legend Barbara Walters. She’s positively sacred: “She’s the Holy Grail, and that’s how I treat her.”
