From time to time we cover the tweets of Univision/Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos. An examination of his timeline provides greater depth of understanding of his biases, much more so than can be gleaned from within the constraints of a heavily produced and formatted half-hour evening newscast or weekly talk show.

These latest tweets came last Thursday, and illustrate what happens when a single individual is elevated, aided and abetted by the progressive political establishment and mainstream media, to gatekeeper status.

There is no variance in the tone of the message this time, unlike the last time we covered a pair of Jorge Ramos’ tweets. However, the Spanish-language tweet helps to clarify. The context of Ramos’ use of “pleading” here is not synonymous with “making a case” for Latino votes, but that of supplication.

In other words, Ramos is envisioning a scenario for his fans, followers, and media allies in which the GOP presidential candidates will be brought down to their knees to beg for Latino votes. Of course, it will be Ramos himself who exacts these “pleas” at the upcoming Washington Post/Univision candidate forum.

As I pointed out last year, it was Ramos himself who pre-poisoned the immigration debate after the 2014 midterm election, and fueled the environment that we see today. Ramos has evidently decided to continue to indulge his kingmaking delusions, at the expense of both serious journalism and the national interest.
