Only ABC Notices Poll Showing E-Mail Scandal 'Taking a Toll' on Hillary

On Tuesday, only ABC's Good Morning America reported a new CNN poll showing a decline in Hillary Clinton's popularity following the e-mail scandal, with a majority of Americans viewing the controversy as a "serious problem" for the 2016 Democratic contender. Neither NBC's Today nor CBS This Morning mentioned the poll results.

GMA only gave the poll sixteen seconds of air time, with news anchor Amy Robach informing viewers: "And Hillary Clinton's use of private e-mail while she was Secretary of State is taking a toll on her popularity. A new poll finds her favorability rating has dropped to 53%. More than half the people surveyed said it is a 'serious problem.' Most agreed she has not explained herself enough."

On Monday, none of the network evening newscasts covered the latest developments on the e-mail scandal. That morning, only GMA provided coverage of the ongoing controversy.

Such a lack coverage was in spite of Fox News reporting on March 12 that Clinton may have broken the law by not turning over work-related e-mails to the State Department before departing as secretary of state. None of the networks have touched that aspect of the story.
