Former NBC Today show host Meredith Vieira channeled her inner Lorena Bobbitt Friday night.

Appearing on NBC’s Tonight Show, in a discussion about embattled New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, Vieira said, “If my husband was sexting, I’d cut it off” (video follows with commentary):

For those that have forgotten, Lorena Bobbitt cut off her husband John’s penis in 1993 after he allegedly raped her. She subsequently threw the severed penis out of her car window.

With this in mind, what is the female fascination with castrating a man for his sexual indiscretions?

Doesn't seem like the punishment fits the crime, does it?
