From the 'I Thought I'd Seen It All' Dept.: Magician Must Have Disaster Plan For His Rabbit

Ozark, Missouri-based children's magician Marty Hahne uses a three-pound rabbit in his magic act.

In a development which probably won't become a news story because it makes the government look bad, Hahne has informed blogger Bob McCarty that "I just received an 8 page letter from the USDA, telling me that by July 29 I need to have in place a written disaster plan, detailing all the steps I would take to help get my rabbit through a disaster, such as a tornado, fire, flood, etc.," and "what I will do after the disaster, to make sure my rabbit gets cared for properly." It's really a two-page letter accompanied by six pages of densely-worded instructions, guidance and reprints from the Federal Register, and would probably take up at least a dozen regularly typewritten pages.

Here's the opening portion of the letter, complete with Big Brother-like greeting (HT The Blaze):

McCarty has a post from 2011 showing how the USDA has been stalking magicians with (OMG!) unlicensed rabbits. Magician Hahne was among three magicians featured.

The only disaster I see is in the ridiculous costs being incurred and imposed by out-of-control regulators. But remember, the government doesn't have the money to conduct White House tours (which could be conducted for the next 60-100 years with the money being spent on the President Obama's African adventure); the USDA, led by Tom Vilsack, doesn't have enough money to adequately police food stamp abuse; and anyone who says differently, especially anyone who thinks sequestration was unfortunately necessary given the virtually incorrigible political culture in Washington, is some kind of hate-filled human being.
