NYT Misquotes San Bernardino Police Chief Claiming Shooting Was ‘Domestic Terrorism’

In a live posting on The New York Times website early Wednesday evening as part of the San Bernardino coverage, the paper ran a rather misleading headline claiming that the Police Chief told reporters the incident “appears to be domestic terrorism” despite the fact that the accompanying quote made no such conclusion.

The Times headline attempted to paraphrase police by declaring that: “Shooing Appears to be Domestic Terrorism.”

However, here’s the company quoting from San Bernardino Police Department Chief Jarrod Burguan: “We have no information at this point to indicate this is terrorist related in the sense that people may have been thinking.”
