Local News Opposes War in Iraq
November 20, 2007 - 16:07 ET by deerjerkydaveI was watching my local Sacramento, CA news on channel 13 the other day and they did a segment on a serviceman who was injured, I think in a car accident while home from Iraq. The serviceman said that he couldn't wait to get back to Iraq. When they returned to the anchor he said, "that's amazing that he wants to go back to Iraq." No bias here! lol
If you new anything about journalism...
November 20, 2007 - 16:26 ET by PTWyou would never see a headline that reads "plane lands safely"
Newspapers sell by peddling the 3Ms...Murder, Mayhem, and Money. It's that simple...not bias.
That may be true for local news, but....
November 20, 2007 - 16:35 ET by SouthJersey1953National News has quite often been used throughout history to boost up the morale of the citizens, especially during a time of war. That is, until Bush got in office, then it turned to bashing Bush and the US.

November 20, 2007 - 17:10 ET by bigtimerAnother slam dunk of a question...
It really has been like nothing I have ever seen with the leftists of all venues and stripes when it comes to hoping for defeat against our own country.
A crying shame indeed.
Hopefully a somewhat Happy Thanksgiving to all the troops and my families....my many many thanks.
Victory is at hand!
no vote for any of the 4 options
November 20, 2007 - 17:52 ET by JohnMI observe that the MSM emphasizes negative news from Iraq and promotes total silence on good news.
I believe this occurs because they are political hacks with a clear political agenda: prepare the way for the campaign message "time for change".
I don't think the MSM consists of reporters or journalists, but rather operatives of the Dem/left party. (Hey, IRS, are you paying attention?)
Because they allow nothing good to go unscathed, untwisted, or unscorned,
because they overhype problems, avoid valid factual comparisons, and pander to emotionalism, and
because they utterly fail to cover a balance of viewpoints,
my write-in vote is "they have an active political agenda".
JohnM & NB'ers
November 20, 2007 - 18:06 ET by MrShyCan you be a little more articulate, and better express your opinion for why you've chosen "they have an active political agenda"?
No, you can't? I don't think I or anyone could, either. Sooo.... I SECOND JOHN-M'S EMOTION !!! (wait, not "emotion", that sounds too liberal-y... I second his logical reasoning! :))
So put me down for "they have an active political agenda", too.

November 20, 2007 - 17:59 ET by dmartin72266Pure and simple. They hate President Bush. I've never seen such hatred for a president, and I don't get it. But its all about Bush.
BDS!!
November 20, 2007 - 20:43 ET by general companyIt really has gotten to the point the Dems/MSM have think tanks dedicated in finding any twist they can imagine to slime Bush. This is what it is all about now, slime/say everyone/anything it takes to get reelected, the people are NOT listening!! Really need to turn these fools over.

gc.... What really cracks
November 20, 2007 - 20:50 ET by bigtimergc....
What really cracks me up especially the closer we get tot he new year is these leftists really seem to think Bush is running again....
I wonder when they are going to wake up and smell the coffee and realize his name is not on the next Presidential ballot.
For me it is getting rather amusing watching these leftie loons when it comes to all of this...talk about just plain dumb insanity.
And the answer is...
November 20, 2007 - 20:49 ET by BritcomThey oppose the war on terrorism
and
They THINK bad news hurts Bush and the Republicans
I had to go with the 'D'; 'cause 'B' didn't include the word "think" in the poll question.
Who the hell actually
November 21, 2007 - 08:53 ET by kathleenirishWho the hell actually voted "they don't downplay positive news"?! Cafferty? Blitzer? Gibson? Shieffer (sp)?
That's ALL the MSM is about- if it don't fit their agenda-it ain't running.
They wear their anti-Americanism on their sleeve, never mind their lapels.
Anyone who says they support the troops but not the mission is a liar.
