I was watching my local Sacramento, CA news on channel 13 the other day and they did a segment on a serviceman who was injured, I think in a car accident while home from Iraq. The serviceman said that he couldn't wait to get back to Iraq. When they returned to the anchor he said, "that's amazing that he wants to go back to Iraq." No bias here! lol
National News has quite often been used throughout history to boost up the morale of the citizens, especially during a time of war. That is, until Bush got in office, then it turned to bashing Bush and the US.

I believe this occurs because they are political hacks with a clear political agenda: prepare the way for the campaign message "time for change".
