Late night comedian Conan O’Brien cracked a crude joke on Monday night at the expense of female Fox News anchors and specifically Jenna Lee and Sandra Smith as he displayed a fake book entitled Fox News Anchor or Porn Star. As part of a larger piece on (fake) books that failed to sell a significant number of copies, Conan quipped: “Here's a book – a coffee table book that just didn't sell. It's called Fox News Anchor or Porn Star? You have to figure it out. Very hard – I say anchor.”

On the July 21 edition of Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski went off on Mitch McConnell (R-KY) after the Senate Majority Leader claimed the gender card would not be enough for Hillary Clinton to win in 2016. The Morning Joe co-host was appalled that McConnell used the term “gender card” and explained: “[T]his is now sexist. It's just unfortunate. It's like those words you can't say, but some people can say.”

In 2012, CNN host Fareed Zakaria took to the commencement circuit delivering nearly-identical speeches at Harvard and Duke. A New York magazine took notice and wondered if these carbon-copied addresses could serve as “a meta-lesson for the kids on how, unlike in college, people get away with phoning it in once they've reached a certain level of success?”
This year, it’s happening again. This past weekend, Katie Couric delivered her second and final commencement address of the season and rehashed the same laments about supposedly sexist critics who never took her seriously as a journalist. Not one to disappoint, she made sure to re-use her "Latin for testicles" joke.
