MSNBC.com continues to show that it is more of a liberal blog designed to peddle extreme talking points than an actual news website. Take for example their newest article with the headline that screams “Can Homophobia Kill You.”

Author Emma Margolin began her February 23 piece by huffing that “it comes as no surprise that anti-gay prejudice carries with it a wide range of damaging effects, but could one of them be death?” Margolis’ ridiculous and inflammatory statement came in response to two studies, one published in the journal Social Science and Medicine which claimed that “sexual minorities living in high-prejudice communities faced shorter life expectancies by approximately 12 years.” 

As we've documented time and again, MSNBC.com’s Zachary Roth is obsessed with defending the ballot box from his favorite villain: the GOP. His February 18 item may have taken the cake for fear-mongering and outright peddling of liberal talking points.

Roth penned a nearly 1500-word piece in which he threw together examples from the 1800s and 1900s where certain segments of the population were excluded from voting -- by Democrats, of course -- as evidence of the “conservative case to limit voting.”

More than a week after conducting an interview with president Barack Obama, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly claimed on Monday night he finds it “troubling” that the questions he asked had not been brought up before because “many in the media are protecting” the Democratic occupant of the White House.

“What the heck is the national press doing?” he asked in the opening segment of that night's edition of The O'Reilly Factor. He then charged the current media with being “the most docile we've ever had,” with the possible exception of those who covered John F. Kennedy during the days of “Camelot” in the early 1960s.

For more than a year, MSNBC and its affiliate MSNBC.com have argued that the GOP have been engaged in a so-called “war on women.” Despite this false and insulting claim by the liberal “news” network, a new piece at MSNBC.com seems to indicate that MSNBC is actually engaged in a war on conservative women.

In an article/slideshow published on January 13, authors Johnny Simon and Maria Lokke highlighted 36 “women to watch in 2014” featuring 32 outspoken liberal Democratic women and only 4 Republican women seeking elective office, with Utah's Mia Love being the most conservative among them. From Wendy Davis in Texas to Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky, the MSNBC piece was more of a voting guide for Democrats than an actual balanced look at women running for office in 2014. 

MSNBC.com’s Zachary Roth has an obsession pitting “voting rights activists” against Republicans in his running series on the supposed “step backwards” that voting rights have taken in the past year. In a January 2 online piece, Roth whines that, “Republican legislatures in states across the country continued to advance restrictive voting laws.”

In typical MSNBC fashion, the piece is peppered with quotes from individuals fretting over the state of voting rights in America, including Dan Tokaji of Ohio State University who with regards to Congress reauthorizing the Voting Rights Act said, “I’m not optimistic about any legislation getting through the current Congress.” Throughout his article, Roth routinely used the term “voting rights activists” to describe supporters of new voting laws.
