Chris Matthews, who on multiple occasions has compared conservatives to Nazis, laughably pleaded for such links to stop. The “Hardball” host begged for civility and noted how “Ted Cruz has done it. Ted Nugent’s done it. Ben Carson has done it. They have all recently compared the Obama administration to Nazi Germany And it is time those analogies stopped for good.”

Matthews complained that “Comparing your opponent to Nazi Germany has become a political weapon of choice over differences of opinion lately… I guess I'm up to here with this. And I guess as a Holocaust family member you are particularly bothered by it. But to me the bone-headedness of this. The lack of historic perspective. The lack of any kind of breadth of knowledge about the world we grew up in.” [See video below.]

At 4:57 on Monday afternoon, MSNBC’s Alex Wagner hyped “Breaking news from the Treasury Department. The White House has announced a second delay to part of the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate. Details on that are next.”  But the next “details” did not come for 12 and a half hours at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning during MSNBC’s Way Too Early broadcast.

In between, MSNBC ran 9 full stories on Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) and the “Bridgegate” scandal surrounding his administration. Rachel Maddow, devoted nearly half of her broadcast, 29 minutes to the Christie scandal. The rest of her primetime colleagues similarly couldn’t be bothered to inform their viewers of the latest ObamaCare delay, despite Wagner’s promise: “details on that are next.”

While serving as guest host of Tuesday's Hardball, Michael Smerconish closed the program by pushing for a legalization of prostitution.  He claimed not to see anything wrong with women selling their bodies for money, calling it “the private affairs of consenting adults.” It's no coincidence that Smerconish's defense of the sex trade came just two days after gushing over prostitution patron Eliot Spitzer and his "unwarranted" resignation as governor. 

In his defense of prostitution, Smerconish made two arguments for its legalization. First, he argued that it would be financially profitable for the government to “bring the world’s oldest profession aboveboard” and allow it to be considered a taxable income. This legalization would also allow for the communities to “clean up the trade,” he argued.
