CBS News contributor and Republican pollster Frank Luntz convened a focus group on Hillary Clinton that aired on Friday’s CBS This Morning and while many expressed their frustration with the possible 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, Luntz failed to mention both Clinton’s email scandal and questions surrounding the Clinton Foundation. As opposed to asking about these important stories, Luntz blamed his focus group for not bringing them up and instead threw softball questions at them concenring Bill and Hillary Clinton and Hillary’s qualifications to be president.

All three networks on Friday warned that Hillary Clinton's e-mail scandal is a serious problem for the ex-Secretary of State. Yet, only CBS This Morning pointed out the hypocrisy of a Clinton directive from the State Department. According to co-host Gayle King, "Clinton’s office told State Department employees back in 2011 not to use private email for work." As it turns out, this was the very thing that Clinton did.

Friday's CBS This Morning surprisingly covered a proposed bill in Florida that would allow college students with concealed firearms permits to carry their weapons onto campus. Michelle Miller spotlighted a Florida State University graduate student who backs the bill. However, Miller also featured two opponents of such "campus carry" legislation during her report.
On Thursday, CBS This Morning did its best to cast doubt on Jeb Bush’s presidential prospects by playing up his family ties while ignoring the potential roadblocks facing Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president in 2016.
All three morning shows on Wednesday covered the latest example of Joe Biden's awkward, close talking with women in public. However, the hosts of CBS This Morning went out of their way to excuse the Vice President's caressing touch and whispering into the ears of the new Secretary of Defense's wife.
On Wednesday, CBS This Morning provided some free publicity for the White House as its three co-hosts gushed over a new video featuring First Lady Michelle Obama promoting her healthy eating initiative with comedian Billy Eichner and Big Bird. After playing a lengthy clip of Mrs. Obama running around a supermarket and dancing with Big Bird, co-host Charlie Rose proclaimed “I love her” and that her video was “just great.”
On Tuesday, CBS This Morning hosted David Axelrod, former senior advisor to President Obama, and treated the former White House official to a friendly interview to help promote his political biography. Throughout the interview, the three CBS hosts lobbed softball questions at Axelrod but refused to ask him about a controversial portion of his book, that they themselves had previously boosted, in which Axelrod claimed that Obama was irritated with Mitt Romney’s concession call in 2012 in which the Republican allegedly suggested the president won by getting out the black vote.

On Wednesday, CBS This Morning hosted Peggy Noonan to discuss the ongoing controversy surrounding the measles vaccine. Throughout the interview, CBS co-hosts Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King pressed Noonan to admit that the GOP has an anti-vaccine problem while omitting President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s previous anti-vaccine statements. O’Donnell played up how “you have Senator Rand Paul saying first on CNBC that he has seen it cause mental disorders in children and then he has backtracked that statement,” before asking “what's going on in the party?”
Joe Biden appeared on all three morning shows, Wednesday, to tout the President's call for new taxes. ABC and CBS both quizzed the Vice President on the process of getting new laws passed, but didn't offer much analysis on the tax hikes. Instead, CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King found time to wonder about football.
On Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer actually grilled White House chief of staff Denis McDonough on President Obama's tax hike proposal: "During the President's last press conference of 2014, he was asked how he might be able to work with the new incoming Republican-controlled Congress and he said, quote, 'The tax area is one area where we can get things done.' And now he's proposing a middle class tax cut paid for with a tax hike on the wealthiest Americans that just about everyone says cannot pass this congress. So why is he going this route?"

The media’s obsession with the Kennedys reared its ugly head once again on Thursday when CBS This Morning spent 4 minutes of its broadcast obsessing over newly released letters from Jacqueline Kennedy written to her favorite fashion designers. While all three CBS hosts beamed at Kennedy’s “flair for fashion” it was her supposed love of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that received the most attention with co-host Gayle King proclaiming that “there’s something cool knowing she ate peanut butter and jelly. I like that.”

For the past several months, CBS This Morning has been promoting the fact that unlike Good Morning America and Today they actually cover “real news.” This trend seems to have continued into 2015 with a segment exposing the increased problems with ObamaCare. On Monday morning, CBS interviewed Steven Brill, author of the book America's Bitter Pill: Money, Politics, Backroom Deals, And The Fight To Fix Our Broken Healthcare System, to diagnose the second full year of ObamaCare. During the segment, Brill declared that under ObamaCare “the drug companies are making more money, the hospitals are making more money, the medical device makers are making more money and everybody is happy except the taxpayer.”
